Noah, lead the charge toward those awards. Congrats my friend. You, Charlie, Larry, and that Canadian Beer drinker all keep giving me something to hopefully look forward to. Will follow your lead Charlie on the DAWG, I'm sure your remedy will be more than enough to fix the problem. Great talking with you guys again, the DAWG is nearing paint. Have a great summer guys. RE: Charlie Kellogg's TBM Avenger Build
Now that is an impressive model, Ray. Congratulations to Russell on his Bearcat.
I have found it easy to appreciate when a model is sooooo large, because it actually looks like it's moving slow in the air. A friend of mine in Iowa built a 1/3scale Bf109. When he first flew it, he kept it up high, trimmed it, got accustomed to it. On the first flight it looked like it was just BARELY crawling along, even though he had the throttle wide open... and then on the next flights started to come in for low passes and bringing it in close, and then it became a goosebump-inducing bat out of hell! Scary big, and scary fast.
Thanks for the link to the event. Looks like some serious fun and serious models. Especially like the Jungmeister!

RE: Charlie Kellogg's TBM Avenger Build
Larry, are there any updates on the Avenger flight program?
I assume that the rest of you Avenger fliers are having a good summer with your planes.
I have finished my Ziroli twin Beechcraft and am moving on to my S2F project. I have started a build thread in the "Twins and Multi- engine" section.
I will post a link to a first flight video and a few photos of the Beechcraft soon I hope.

Charlie,
Hoping to have 2nd flight of the avenger on the 14th. Got the new crew door made, still needs to be glassed and painted. The rudder will now be attached to carbon fiber rods. And hope to have the cowl attached for the next flight.
Field had about 125ft ceiling last Sunday, not very conducive for long flights with the ceiling nd wind picking up, breaking for 10 mins and then coming in again.
Can't wait to see the tracker thread....
Our warbirds event is the 14th so were hoping to have the avenger ready.
Happy flying guys...btw...Chic??????????

RE: Charlie Kellogg's TBM Avenger Build
Are there any builders considering beginning an Avenger build?
I have shipped the last canopies and ball turret parts for the Avenger that I had in stock. I am trying to decide whether to invest over $400 to re-stock them. With the loss of builders in the hobby I don't want to stock parts for a long time. It would be a lot easier to re-stock if I had two or three orders for canopies to fill.
Anyone interested can email me at [email protected]

Forgot to say, I have overlapping panels (built up primer) on stab, rudder, fuse, wings, and vinyl rivets everywhere. Finish sanding the fuse and install rivets on the overlap panels on the fuse, then last minute motor adjustments, check new CG, paint, and fly. Then the Avenger, yea. Chic

Man, you guys are the greatest. I saw Charlie today at Warbirds Over Delaware. Let me tell you, his Skyraider flies beautifully. Solid as a rock, steady, and very maneuverable. And that blue colored rear canopy area just sets it off. A beautiful airframe I must say. Great chatting with him, not only about the DAWG but about the Avenger. Thanks Noah for being there. Chic

Chic,
Sorry I missed you guys today.. was really trying to get down there.
As for your post I have NO idea what you're talking about, it could be as simple as just wanting to send you Famous Dave coupons...

So no Avenger flight today. Had everything ready to go was checking the control surfaces with the radio and pulled a piece off the flap where the horn connects...
Back to the drawing board...
A mere 90+ with high humidity at the field, I may cool down by September

Charlie,
Congrats, wish I could have been there.
Should have the flap fixed Thursday and ready to go as soon as John gets back from vacation.

Winning the radio is icing on the cake. I haven't missed WOD in twelve plus years.
We had a great time at WOD and got in several flights with the Skyraider. The Saturday noon show was great with a lot of beautiful planes.
It was nice to get to chat with you Chic. It has been a few years since we met in person. Brian Brannan flew his Ziroli P-40 this year but reports that his Avenger is still doing well.
I need to get back to work. I am making Avenger cowlings today.
