Thanks!! That things was way cool sounding and load!! I wonder how far or what he did to do that.... Anyone??????
ORIGINAL: FenderBean

I asked that same question to the Tomahawk Rep which had the same jet and scheme, He said it was a turbine/bell mouth distance thing. The Rep had the same setup and his was not that loud, I forget his name.
ORIGINAL: gjhinshaw

What made that one hawk so load?? did it have one of those whistles on it?
I did ask him why it was so loud he said it was because his turbine was to far from pipe it had a 1& 3/4 inch gap. It did sound way cool

I attended my first ever jet event to fly at this years KJ all week. I had a great time all week meeting new friends and getting in some fun flying.
Lewis puts on one heck of an event. Thanks Lewis. I sure have crossed over to this jet thing. Enjoyed the week.

I had a great time at JOK 2013. Thanks Lewis and crew for hosting this first class event. I can't wait until next year.

It is always so nice to see old friends and most important, make new ones. Too many to mention!

I want to thank Juan and Eric from Jet Central for helping me get to the bottom of my F-104 flame out issue. Ultimately it was a fault fuel solenoid. Watch your PW or pump voltages, they are trying to tell you something... LOL

And finally, Id like to thank everyone who stopped by the BVM tent to discuss projects and purchase supplies (and RCJA shirts). Without your support we could not be there.

This is my buddy Joe. He was the one that had that Blue wing that was flown into the fireworks show!! This is one of the best on board videos ever
Thank you Joe!!

Thanks to Joe for taking that video. That's the first time I saw any of the fireworks as I had my head down lighting them and didn't have time to look up
Concerning the large loud Hawk, every time it flew I looked up expecting to see a full scale flying over. Very cool sound. Sounds like he hit on some resonant frequency with that setup.

Thanks Lewis for another Grand JOK!!

Just when you think Lewis can't out do himself he does! Thanks for putting up with our dysfunctional family VA boys! You guys are welcome in the BAMFmobile anytime! I'm pretty sure Danno burned through about 20 rolls of paper towels through the week so thanks for helping to keep our campground free of trash

Marty, Joe and I completely sold on the CARF Hawk - we will be ordering ours within days and will be consulting you on tips through the build I'm sure.

Always a big plus to have the actual builder of the engines we fly on site too; team Jet Central a great group of people to be around.

Congrats to Redman on his new position and a great job on the mic for the spectators - definately added a lot to the show.

Chris, Hank and Sean, enjoyed dinner with you guys- we'll have to have a reunion next year.

Team Shockwave was beyond impressive and the Jet has definately established a footing as the pilot's plane to have. It looks like my marketing strategy really paid off for you guys,I'll take my royalties in kit credit. Strangely enough I wasn't offered any rides on the SW this year?

I have the annual pic flood of the thread to follow - people always ask for hi-res copies which is fine, please don't offer any compensation for pics of your planes I could never take anything for something that is just part of the hobby for me. I know, I know, you want static pics and pit pics too - they'll have to come from someone else, I'm only after the inflight low pass mid-field shots - it's what I like

What a great hobby! Can't believe I missed the first 5 years of the event! I won't miss another one!

PS - anyone an animal at editting .mov or can recommend an easy-to-use low loss editor? I have some great inflight footage from the angry cat and the flash captured by a Contour Roam2 but need to cut it down - not much experience there. If I can get it editted, there are some cool shots of the field, chasing smoking airplanes, and chasing Ali's Falcon.

It was a great event. I went purely as a spectator - I have only seen RC jets once before (Jet World Masters in Dayton). I met Lewis there and met him again at JOK - he and everyone else I met are all really great - I did not feel like an outsider whatsoever. I think I felt more comfortable at this RC event than any one I've ever been to.

I have an uncomfortable feeling that jets are contagious.

Hey KenI have people asking for dvd's on Facebook I need to get the link please.
Unfortunately because I had a very short lead time on getting ready to do this (only a few weeks before the event) I didn't have time to get a website put together for this. But I will have one up by the time the DVD's are finished. If anybody is looking to get in touch with me on the DVD's they can PM me here, or they can email me at [email protected] and I'll take care of them there.

Thanks for understanding.

Ken

Got a txt from a buddy who is there, the big FEJ Hawk was being flown by Ali when the tail fluttered, parts blew off and down she came. He was not pushing the aircraft hard.

What a great video. The SR-71 looks awesome on Take-off. The Falcon business jet is beautiful with the sun going down. Just awesome footage. Great job and thanks for posting the Big Hawk Crash.
