Default Larger Classic Pattern airplanes

I have a recently rebuilt YS 120 NC engine sitting idle in the shop. Can anyone recommend a "classic pattern airplane" that would handle this engine? The King Altair comes to mind, but before buying a new kit, I thought I'd ask and see if anything else is available these days

Check with Don at RCAiir.com. He has the Wild Beat (a bit large for your engine), the Miss Beetle which was Akiba's 120 4-stroke design for the '89 WC, and maybe others - I don't think he sleeps!

A typhoon.... jim graham has the mold as well as other 120 size pattern planes.

I have the Wild Beat kit that Don has pulled canopy molds from. I highly recommend this kit.

A side note:
I currently have a 1.20 NC on my 20 year old Goldberg Ultimate Bipe...After struggling for a long time with the low end on that engine (too lean then rich idle), I found the fix!!! Enlarging the air bleed hole in the butterfly was the cure!!! Not sure if you have this problem but my engine never would idle right...It would never go straight to a steady RPM at idle...It would initially be lean after chopping the throttle and then go rich...It wouldn't quit but was always "hunting" at idle rather than being consistent...Now she's straight!!

I would also highly recommend the Wildbeat. Imho it was one of the easiest flying pattern planes of the era, very tame, very smooth, very easy to fly. You almost get comfortable with it immediately.

Wildbeat was designed by Akiba and follows the lineage of the Beetle and Wild 7. Akiba came out with the Beat On when the widebody era came, but the Wildbeat was still my favorite. Very robust and straight forward airframe, also easy to build and maintain. A YS-120 would be perfect. MK also made a Wildbeat 90, and that was perfect with a YS-91/110.

The only thing unique about the Wildbeat on the original MK kits are that they required a special set of MK gear wires that bend forward. F3A unlimited still sells them. I'm guessing you can build probably with normal straight gear from RCAiir kits.
