Default Help! Where to get fuel in Scotland (central belt)

A question for all Jet flyers in Scotland, central belt.

Where do you buy your fuel?

The first couple of hours I ran my turbine on Diesel. The manufacturer allows Diesel but now I want to change to kerosene or other alternatives.

I went to the local garden centre and I can get paraffin for £8 for 4ltr. So plus the oil it comes to nearly £5 a flight.

I was told that I can go to a fuel supplier with my canister and have it filled up. I phoned a couple and was told that this is not possible and the minimum amount I have to order is 500ltr, which is a little bit too much.

So, my question, where do you get your fuel? I live in Lanark, South Lanarkshire.

Ulrich, the only options you have immediately are a local airport / small runway plot and a home heating depot, I have an oil fired cooker and boiler so we just syphon our Kerosene out of the tank at home but I know a lot of companies sell by the barrel or less. Keep ringing about, Yellow pages was much better than Google as that always gives national results etc

It's a bit of a drive and I haven't been up there for a few years so it may no longer be the case, but you used to be able to buy Jet A1 from Cumbernauld airport.

Thanks for the info.

I'll try Cumbernauld airport and keep ringing around.
