I don't actually have any smokers, but heng long units are notorious for failing pretty quickly. There are a lot of easy fixes or mods though,

The smokers typically have an on/off switch, you might want to see if the switch is working properly.

It's a non-proportional smoke unit ( looks like they're using two 10 Ohms 1/2 Watts resistors to lower the speed of the pumping motor )
You should try to run the tank with the hull open and check if the pump is working ...
If the pump is working and there's still no smoke ; either the unit is overfilled with smoke fluid ; or the nichrome heater element is broken...
If nothing is working at all; then it's probably that master switch ...

Thank you gentlemen.  I dont see a switch on this, so I will wait a while in case its flooded.  I put in about three drops on each side when I first opened it a week ago,   The second or third time I turned it on there was no smoke and I added three more on each side....

There should be a smoker switch on the bottom of the tanks. Nice looking Tiger by the way. Did you paint it?

I don't think the smoke fluid will evaporate, but it doesn't sound like you added too much. There should be a small red switch near the power switch underneath, along with a volume pot.

If the smoker is on, you should be able to hear the pump, it's pretty loud when the tank is idle. It chugs like a toy train. You can turn down the sound volume and will definitely hear it.

Jim, thanks.  The paint came already done from Taigen / Heng Long.   The bottom of the tank is just a metal cover with no switches on.  The tank has metal treads and bottom, the top is plastic

OK, sorry, not familar with that brand. Thought it was a HL tank. I would think that there should be a switch somewhere though. If the swich is on, you should hear the smoke unit run.

I believe HL and Taigen is the same company.  Could the switch be the red one shown here?

That certainly appears to be the switch, HLs have a large one as power and use those smaller ones for the airsoft and smoke. Power up the tank, let idle and turn it on, you'll immediately see the air pump on the smoke unit start chugging if it is.

That was it!  Tank is now smoking away, albeit disproportionally!

You want proportional smoke try a Super Smoker II from  Radio Control Custom Tanks  www.radiocontrolcustomtanks.com
$55.00 plus shipping. This is the same unit Phil from RC Tankwars was selling with some improvements.

I see by the picture of the smoker that the refill probe is also used as a "low level" fluid indicator....
It makes the maintenance so much easier...
