I saw the twin synce device used! Pilot should of aborted and keep thumb off the throttle - Model is on take off run - one or both engines don't rev up when throttled up - Plane gets airborne but engines loose power and model comes down - Its about to land safely - then both engines rev up full throttle and force model into tall grass and a wing is ripped off - You see this about 3-40min into the video. This was a not a cheap ARF that got wreck

I have to wonder if the Top Flite ARF at the end of the video even had a TwinSync on it..
Had one been installed and an engine sags the TS would bring the other one down to same speed..
In order for the engines to go to "full throttle" the pilot would have to of pulled the throttle stick all
the way back and then pushed it forward..
In the video the engines are clearly not performing and pilot SHOULD have aborted,, but did not..
Also the pilot should have just nosed down straight and landed,,not try to make a turn..
As to how did wing get broken.. Hmm, seeing as many people have cracked/broken wings with less
of an impact that what that one sustained I would have to say that wing was broken on impact as hard
as it hit the ground..
Therefore,, to make a statement that the crash was caused by a TwinSync is very incorrect..

TwinSync is an aid... It makes it so pilot can tell if there is an engine problem.. It is still up to the pilot
to make corrective measures.. The use of a TwinSync just gives pilot more time to make those corrrective measures..

My appologies - Sorry you are 100% correct pilot caused error I've edit my last!

I agree the pilot caused the crash as he didnt abort and kept the power off - Iam sure he cycled the throttle and left it full throttle after he relised he was going down - The synce device took both engines down and then reved them both up cause throttle left on full! . Yes its pilot error and Yes wrong to say device caused crash! Pilot should of not been surprised when engines went through a cycle of idle and then reved up. In his case just as touch down occured.

Have you seen device on small .25's?

BILL,

is there a " 4 sync " I think it was mentioned a while back... has anything come of it?

Several B-17s and other 4 engine models are coming...

My 2 cents... That was one tuff situation to be in. I doubt many could of saved it. On the previous flight the engines were so close throughout the entire flight I would think there was a TwinSync installed. I have flown a Nosen 310 for many years. This last year I installed a TwinSync in the 25 year old model and I think its a great investment. As a matter of fact I am finishing up the TF 310 build as we type and am going to get another TwinSync to install in it. I am totally sold on them. I have to disagree with the point Ken made, I believe the planes left wing tip hit he ground first in the short grass and cracked the left panel but however it unfolded the 310 had more than enough speed to hit the tall grass even without the brief engine spurt.
