Default HL Sherman re-paint

I'm in the process of giving my HL Sherman a make-over.
I've added weldlines, turret stowage box and a making a ammo trailer. She's got a coat of paint on, I've started weathering and added a pin-up

Frank

The subtle shading with black you have done, shows Heng Long how it is done.

I am impressed with the H L M4 for the cost. I wish they didn't paint over the front LEDs on mine.

Nice work! I like the trailer too.

Maybe take one of those M45 Quadmounts out of the M16 and install it?

Juts remove the paint with your nail, the led doesn't take the paint.

I have to agree, I'm a great fan of the HL Sherman, I think it's a great little model. I've spent a bit of cash on the running gear on this one, but I think I could have lived with the std set up, even though it isn't 100% accurate

I think yours turned out very good!

I started on my HL Sherman. Puttied in the plugs on the VVSS units and made them look right. Cut out the battery box and ordered the black gearbox from Hobby Raw.

It will eventually be the M36B1.

looks very nice, one quick one though, have you took suspension units off? because they appear to be backwards

GOOD EYE!

Yeah, it looks like the factory installed them on the wrong sides and those plugs are a pain to pull up too because they will never look right again.

It's no big deal, but you should take advantage of this and fill the caps over with putty and replace the cast webbing with some styrene (like I did) to eliminate the nasty plug-cover-look.

I just received my steel geared boxes today (should have bought 2) and will start a build thread on either the Early M4A3 or the M36B1 build since I now have 2 HL Shermans.

Yeah, I just received my Walterson gearboxes the other day(very nice) and will be installing them next week..not sure which gear ratio I should run though...probably the middle of the three gears they offer in the kit?

This is what I did to mine to hide that nasty area.
