Default Unboxing, Review, and Maiden of the new Parkzone UM P-51 Mustang

Hi guys!
I recently bought my favorite warbird in the form of the new Ultra Micro P-51D from Parkzone. The unboxing/review/maiden flight video is now complete and ready for you all to view. This video includes two flights in addition to the unboxing/review.
I hope you all enjoy!

PS: If you just want to skip to just the flights, they begin at 2:46.

Here is another video showing it flying "scale". I am impressed with how realistically it flies for a micro plane.

I am surprised that none of you seem interested in this plane, though not completely shocked. It seems like most of you like the bigger and more powerful warbirds. I don't blame you either lol

That & most of us prefer wood/fiberglass or composite construction. EP airframes are for beginners IMO.

I fly big scale balsa and composite warbirds but I still love these little micro planes, they require a lot of attention and skill to fly because of their small size. Your Mustang flies great , a lot better than first Parkzone Mustang like the one I have. My son has the micro T-28 and really likes it.

Thanks for your responses guys! All of them make sense, though I am not 100% sold on the EP planes being just for beginners

I took this video last night and it turned out better than I had hoped. It makes me laugh and enjoy this lovely plane all at the same time. Best of all I got to spend it with my great girlfriend!

This is a better quality video than the last one I posted and it does a pretty good job of showing the personality of this plane.

Enjoy!

GP,
I fly wood, glass ect, and love the new 1700 size EPO Warbirds , I am working on a Corsair as we speak .
The key is wing loading , they are totally sweet flyers and the epo is very durable .
I have 79" P40 with powered sliding canopy , pilot head turns ect at 13lbs lol .
Keep your enthusiasm , the main issues for light feedback is that there are forums and groups 100% into these type birds but not typically in the warbirds section (fuel) .
Also many are focused on another site altogether .

You make some good points and WOW! Ineed to see your finished Corsair and P-40. That sliding canopy sounds awesome.

While Iam posting, Iwill post this video of me flying it inverted for the first time. What a fun little plane!

Great Job , nice flying !! Those small planes can be a handful , especially the way the wind toys with them .
This is a video of the 79" P40 , its been finsihed and flown about 40 times , this video was made while I was still bulding and painting .
Canopy is now all painted and spinner is painted red .

GP, thanks for the info and videos. I've been thinking about a couple of these but have always kind of wondered just how good they really are. Your video shows that they can fly pretty good so I'm going to get one and if things go good I'll be getting more...

I have both the P-51 and the Corsair. These are a lot of fun for flying around the back yard when I need a quick flying fix. The Corsair can be a handful to fly if the battery is not all the way forward.

You are welcome! I am glad that I could help show the positive qualities the plane posses and that you are happy with your purchase. Keep me posted as to what you might buy next since there are some real stinkers out there in the micro relm if you aren't careful.

Scott,

That is exactly what I do. They are great for the quck fix when the wind dies down just enough or when you only have a few minutes of stick time available.

GB great flight , your going to ace the bigger ones if you choose to move up , I always found the smaller planes need more skill , so my hats off to you !! I just added a linear servo to my 1700mm corsair , again a large foamy GB !!!
I hope it will load and you enjoy the view .
Keep the threads coming on these planes , there a blast to fly @@
The Canopy is powered by a linear servo hidden in the top part of the fuse.

lol well, I just bought the MiG-15 and I liked it so much that I bought a back-up. That may be if for me for a while since I am so busy lately that I rarely get to fly my Wildcat and T-28 parkflyers since I need more space to fly those.

Here is the MiG-15 maiden: http://youtu.be/aN8D4fmgay0

My T-28 unboxing and maiden: http://youtu.be/2hiwMf66Uzk

Some fun with my F4F Wildcat (this plane is amazing to fly!):

Thanks man! It sure is a blast but it actually seems kinda slow in person. It looks even better in person, however. At $80 a pop now, it may be worth it!

The T-28 video isn't that great really. The camerawoman just maidened her Champ, so I had to edit out a lot of shaky footage. She also completely missed a few cool moments. She is normally great though!

lol, my cameria women is on strike so I may use my "Hat Cam" its a nerdy UnderArmor hat that was cool now has a mini cam on it !!! lol .
The T-28 video was cool , these model provide a great format to get up into the air fast !!!
I know a lot of guys that have added flaps , retracts and interiors to there T28 just because they wanted a cool factor.
They all fly great so I guess they dont mind adding tweeks ect.
I love these foam planes, my only dislike is there tempermental recation to long periods of sun but that is the only down side

Thanks about the T-28 video! I need to get a new one soon and a new Wildcat one for sure. I am so used the Wildcat that I am in pretty dang good command of it most of the time.

I have thought about a hat cam, but my head moves around way too much for that to work out ok lol
