Nothing wrong with You Tube but probably is some form of Non-Tankers Rivet Counter ban.

RE: IS-2 tank - test drive
That really was a neat video; thank you very much for sharing it. I never realized how rough the welds and castings were on the tank, nor how filthy the inner side of the rear fuel tanks get from the exhaust. I think you'd need about THREE smoke units on a model to try and match all the exhaust smoke that thing puts out!

RE: IS-2 tank - test drive
Over fueling during a cold start I think produces the white smoke, probably want to look at the glow plugs or turn the motor over a bit longer before hitting the start button [&:]

RE: IS-2 tank - test drive
Yes, both are engines of some kind, indeed
Just compare idling sound such with idling sound from a tamiya such as found here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...GjrqEZZ4&t=394
vs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...sRWzJ8Ft0&t=34
...and it couldn't be the sound of a JS-2, since Tammy put into the JS-2 the same MFUs previously used inside the KV1 and the KV2... and they don't share the same engine sound, definitely.

The difference isn't really great enough to warrant a whole new mfu, they both use v2 v-12 diesels. Slightly different models in each granted but the difference isn't huge. As far as inaccuracies got a slightly different engine sound isn't the end of the world.

RE: IS-2 tank - test drive
At 700+ euro selling price I hardly find acceptable they couldn't flash the JS-2 MFU with a new set of sounds (some JS-2 in working order can be still found in the world).... but that's personal.
After they put out the 'supersherman' I have no faith in tammy's care for details anymore...

RE: IS-2 tank - test drive
I think Tamiya out-did themselves when they engineered the Pershing kit. That same team either wasn't retained or they didn't live up to their next kit.
Also, the JS-2 has a different speaker than the KV tanks and I think that's enough of a difference in sound to allow the same electronics to be used.
I'll wait and see if the JS comes down in price. What an awesome tank and kit!
