Since it looks like you might be discontinuing the FA450 I might consider one of these to convert to methanol use if the CR is high enough to make power.
Unless you have utilized a taller piston, the 180 top end on the 450 bottom will result in a CR of < 8:1.
Not intereseted in following the sheep to gasoline. Methanol/CDI has most of the advantages of gas W/O the smell & carbon build-up while making more power W/cheaper fuel.

These will be shipped to us early to mid-May which means we should have them by the end of May or early June.

We are working on getting all the marketing information put together for the web page. As I am not in charge of that schedule I would only be able to guess at a timeframe ... but I am working on it.

Sorry man but it won't fit the H9 corsair cowl
Sorry man but it won't fit the H9 corsair cowl
It will too fit in a H9 corsair, the rockers will stick out a bit.
As far as what I'm putting it in, I am first putting it in a Hangar 9 Sukohi to break in 2 Radials, I have a ScaleWings F7F Tigercat . It sould sound really nice. I'm planning to start my build this winter. I have not decided if I'm going to do a build thread.
I will have my radial tomorrow!
Cheers,
Doug

One of the H9 guys that is flying this plane said that it would fit completely inside the cowl if you did not offset for right thrust but that if you did the rockers on one side might. I have a few other projects first but this radial in the corsair I believe would be awesome.

"Ok guys the Saito FG 84 will fit into the cowl but the engine has 2.5 degrees of right
thrust and that will cause the engine to displace enough
to now allow the rocker cover to make contact with the cowl
It might be possible to grind back some of the
rocker cover enough to provide clearance
or you could install the engine with no right thrust
and set up a mix in your Tx for right rudder based upon throttle setting"
This is from Bill Brundle from H9. He took the measurement at joe nall. I believe he meant to say firewall has 2.5" right offset in it not the engine. Either way it will fit if a bit tight.

Hello Gents,
Well I was able to get the motor installed yesterday and tested it out today. All I have to say is WOW!. This was money well spent. Smooth operation, fast starts, Does really well on fuel consumption. I put a 23x10 zoar prop, That's all I had. This will be a motor that will have to be baffled if put in a cowl. I am unsure of how much time it will take to break it in. I am running Redline oil.
Cheers,
Doug
