Anyone help with Sea Vixen kit
Interested in a Sea Vixen turbine mentioned briefly in a recent RCMW. Flown by Steve Brett and produced from a semi kit produced originally by Alec Cornish-Trestail. This kit was apparently later produced by Jim Fox and later still by Jetstyle UK. I understand that Ray Jones of Clwyd acts as an agent for these but have not been able to get any further info on price availability etc.
Would be grateful for any further info

Kerry Sterner has also done a beautiful set of plans and laser cut parts for the Sea Vixen, I'm sure he'll chime in with further details...

Mick-I would like to see those.
Does yours have a single power unit?-apparently this is true of the Brett model which uses a bifurcated pipe.
many thanks

DH-110 Sea Vixen 1/8th scale
Paulish,
I have designed a 1/8th scale ALL WOOD Sea Vixen which won 2nd at the 2001 TOLEDO Trade show and was flown at the "01 Nationals.
It is the FAW-1 version. The Jim Fox model is a FAW-2 if I recall correctly.
It is powered by 1- engine (SIMJET-2300 or 3000)
It is exact scale and includes the Fowler Flaps and features removable outer wing panels for easy transport.
I have drawings available as well as Glass inlets, Radom, Canopy, machined scale accessories, scale wheels and brakes.
The byfurcated tailpipe would have to be gotten from TAMPIPES.
This model will be feature as a Construction Article in RCM in the very near future.
Please feel free to contact me about this subject aircraft.
Regards.

This is Don Imries (SAA Chariman), RAM 1000 powered Sea Vixen. Built by his friend.
His e-mail is [email protected] if you want to get in contact.

DH-110
Davie:
Thanks for the great picture of Don Imries Sea Vixen.
This is a very good example of the FAW-2 version in the Target Tug colors as you can see the Boom mounted Fuel tanks.
BTW, this is the color scheme of the ONLY full scale flying DH-110.
Also, my project could have not been completed with all the scale operating features with out the significant input and documentation provided by the curator at the Yovalton FAW museum.

SEA VIXEN
Hi Paulish,
I have seen both planes/plan and since I like building from plans I have the Kerry Sterner's plans and I can assure you that its a very nice plan.
I have also seen the Steve Bretts Sea Vixen fly and its also a nice flier. Apparently his, believe had a Sophia 850 and it flew very nice.
Whatever you choose, dont forget to get the Warpaint book on the Sea Vixen because it has a number of interesting color schemes.
Good luck!

RE: Anyone help with Sea Vixen kit
This is an ancient thread, but does anyone know if any plans, parts or kits are still available for the ex Jim Fox Sea Vixen ?. I see the last post in 2003 indicated that someone in South Africa had the molds, are they still in existance ?.

You could try this route if you fancy a traditional build. I have already ordered the plan.
