I hope you find out how. I have never ever used CA to attach a canopy after this happened to me twenty years ago.

The ONLY way is to carefully trim the excess off then polish with successive finer grades of abrasive until finally polished back to gloss.

SAND WITH 800 WET PAPER. COMPLETE CANOPY.. THEN PUT URETHANE CLEAR..

You won't remove it without damage to the original canopy as the glue would have etched the plastic but as mentioned you can sand out with very fine paper like 1000+. I have heard guys use future floor wax with good results but I just clear it with 2021 automotive. The nice thing then is it stays almost scratch free for years with the clear.

try some nitro, dab it on,leave a few minutes, dab on again,wipe of with a cloth or paper towel, dampened with nitro. works for me.

You could try CA remover/debonder. Then you're going have to polish the blemishes out with fine grades of wet sandpaper. Start with a 400 grit, then work you're way down to a 1500 grit. Keep your canopy wet during this. Finally clearcoat your canopy. I use Future floor polish.

Hi Ron,

I didn't use CA to attach the canopy, I dropped a drop on the canopy while glueing something else. One of these days I'll remember to cover the canopy with electrical tape until I have everything done and the whole plane painted.....

Larry, nitromethane wil dissolve CA(Golden West used to sell small bottles of it that you might still be able to get) but may also cause a blemish on the canopy that you would need to polish out. Only way to know if get a test scrap of canopy trim material, apply CA and try to dissolve and see what happens. Good Luck.

I did the same thing....

Was CAing my sons sun glasses and for some reason I did it right over the canopy and 3 drips got on it. I used CA remover to get it off. It left some blemishes that I polished out with some left ever stuff I used to polish the head lights on my car. Looks great now
