And finally the sealed air inlet scoop on the top of canopy. Just a piece of plastic with some silicone. Im working on a new radiobox tray that I should have finished tomorrow. It has the throttle servo delete, inline steering servo and hopefully will clean up the radio box.

Sure looks nice tc4 drft At least you got to see yours for real. I am still waiting on a Neu 2230 1y and a water cooling jacket I paid Chris for about two years now. Some get screwed and some get lucky. If you read this Chris I am still waiting on a reply from you. (Ha Ha) Like that's going to happen. Offshore Electrics for me from now on.

ok so the motor you have is the nemisis gold 7000 900 kv, and the esc is hydra ice 200HV, is thats what's in the video of the test 1 boat you posted? and can that work with 10s and 12s packs, I'm building a 60" mti and im going to use two motors, esc's and battery packs, one for each motor. i have the batteries, and i'm sold on the 200HV esc's, for me its really the motors that im not sure of, i was thinking castle 2028, but i would love just a little more, I want to get full use of the 12s packs, the video looked pretty good. I guess i would like to know how the 7000 motor stacks up against the 2028's

The motors in the video that I mentioned are a pair of Lehner 3080's. They're crazy spendy, $799ea at RCR. For my build, I had origally thought I was getting the Nemesis Gold motor, but the Leopard 5698 910kv is what shipped, and thats fine by me. Im not sure what the differences are between the Nemesis golds and Leopards are other than color. As far as the castle 2028 is concerned, I have no idea how they compare. Im sure the castle is a far superior motor to the leo or nemesis. However, FDM now has a Nemesis Black series that might be on par with the Castles. I literally just noticed those on his site this evening, so I know nothing about them other than they cost more than the Leos and nemesis gold.

ok ,sounds good thanks, might have to give Chris a call, I have never done business with him, But I have had customers that have had him build our hulls for them without issues,The 799.00 motors are more then my customer will want to go on this build,I am sure in some circles they are worth the money, we are looking for the most bang for the buck. including reliability. but im not willing to spend 50-70% more for that last 10% of performance.

Sorry for not posting fin a while. I the middle of a house purchase with a baby on the way, so time has been limited. I got to run it once last fall just for testing purposes. I was using 2 of the Turnigy 4s 5000mah 40-50c blue packs for 8s total. Ran it for a few minutes, then checked the readings on the ESC. Temps were shockingly cool, like I didnt even run it, but my ripple voltage was a bit high for my liking. I sent my results to Castle to review, and they agreed. The ripple voltage problem was caused by one or a few problems combined. CC told me the Turnigy packs are most likely not putting out the 40-50c as stated...they are cheap packs, thats why I got them. Lesson learned. Dont buy cheap lipos. Also, Im running 5.5mm bullets on everything. I got 8mm OSE bullets ready to replace them, just have yet to do it. Another problem that may have played a role was my motor to drive shaft alignment. After that short run, the drive cable burned a hole right through my teflon cable housing. I reworked the mount holes on the stringers, and now its straight as an arrow.
I just placed my order for some 4s 5000mah 65c Dinogy packs a few minutes ago. From what I read, these are some of the highest rated lipos you can buy, and they are priced really well. So new lipos, new 8mm bullets and a friction free cable should solve the ripple problem.
And for anyone wondering, my initial run was in some signicant chop. It was bouncing all over the place. I never really got to get on the throttle for much more than a second, but I had it dancing on the wave tops at about 50ish im guessing with about 80% throttle. It was catching way too much air to go any faster. I was debating on going with 5s packs instead, but decided on the 4s for now. It was fast on 8s. Im going to get used to that, then move up to 10s, pending I have time to use it. Hope to get some video up within a few weeks. Ive got a GoPro3 that im itchin to use.

Dinogy packs came today. Dropped my motor, esc and lipos off to my LHS as i didnt trust myself to solder the 8mm bullets onto everything. I also pick up a castle cap pack that he's installing as well. Should be running by fri/sat. Pics And possible video to follow.
