Midwest Jets (formerly MN Jet Rally) will take place at the New Hampton, IA, airport 8/21-25, 2013.

The airport will be closed for our event and we have wide open space and nothing planned but flying and fun.

AMA and turbine waiver required; EDF welcome. BYO Fuel. Everything else is within 2-3 miles of the airport.

Open Flying Thursday-Sunday, 3000 foot runway, closed airport.

T shirts included for pilots

Saturday night dinner at the field, with campfire to follow.

Hangar storage at night.

BVM is sponsoring again! Thank you BVM!

Super 8 is giving us a rate for the event Th-Sat night, 3 miles from airport with pool.

Turbine and electric jets welcome.

We may have a jet vendor trailer at the event too

This has all been made possible due to the town of New Hampton, Iowa and several members of the local RC club in New Hampton. Thanks to everyone in New Hampton for your help and support.

The site is shaping up. Wednesday the grass and brush are being cut to permit spectators in from the West. This will give us a nice low cut grass for tents and setup and the spectators can be safely behind us yet have a good view.

Flying should begin Wed afternoon for anyone who can make it that early.

OK so are we going to see anyone from Iowa at the Midwest Jet Rally in Iowa? Todd, I hope you can make it and maybe bring some pilots with you.

I am hoping that we can give the town of New Hampton a nice demonstration of RC jets as well.

The event is now officially sanctioned through the AMA and is on the contest calendar for August/Iowa.

Thanks again to Jerry Crow our CD for the event.

Since we are under a month away I would like to get a "list" together just fro headcount for some planing - so please add a note here if you think you are coming - Thanks!

Ok, pit area has been cut for the first of 3 times before the event. Sanction and insurance paperwork is all set. Tshirts in production.

Looking good. ALso maidened my Hawk the other day, should be good for the rally.

I am making one more trip down this weekend to check on the layout and then will see you there 8/21-8/25.

Dave good luck with Midwest jets. Joe and I just shot the clear on the hawk but still need to plumb and program. The weekend of Midwest jets I have a wedding that Saturday for my daughters best friend. Roy, Eden Prairie

Tent is arranged for the central tent. If anyone wnats their own 20x30 let me know and I can rrange it for you. $250 for the 20x30.

The guys in New Hampton have the grass all cut for our flying area, it looks great and will be trimmed again before the event.

I already bought all of my kero too so we are about ready to go!

Please remember your waiver/ama card and byo Kero. Other than that we should be set. Shirts, tents, golf cart, BVM sponsor package are all ready to go.

So far I count about 12-14 pilots confirmed. Super 8 is filling up a bit. We have room for many more so I hope we see some old and new friends from IA, WI, MO, ND, SD, MN, IL.

Dinner will be at 5 at the field Saturday. We eat and keep flying...

For those coming WED:
We will have the tent up around 12-1 and will setup around that..should have everything ready to fly by 2 or so. We can fly as late as we want to, no problem.
We also should have access to the hangar each night.
