Hello,
Order the spinner at [link=http://www.tru-turn.com/]Tru-Turn[/link] :
3 blade Ultimate shape of 5" with a lightened backplate.
We don't need a adapter for the Mintor 220cc.
Tru-Turn made also for free a special cut for our Biela 3 blade prop 32/12.

Hi Phil:
You have an interesting project in front you.
Your selection of 220cc engine is a good choice considering your pay load.
I have also used the same propellor and spinner with good results.
I know you have also followed the other 185 thread, there are a few construction up grades that I would consider when you receive the model.
I look forward to seeing your progress and results.
Regards
Randy

Hi Randy,
First I wane tank you for your great post about the Cessna 185 because this post has to make possible or project and to make the choose off the plane.
Normally, Tommy gone make the shipping at 07.08.2013 in the hope that the plane is finish.
The difficult aspect of this project is to take off on point A, landing on point B and take off again from point B to land again on point A and this full autonomous.

Awesome looking plane , and what a project . Nice work .
Auto landing system : Does the autopilot has a "ground proximity" sensor , that it knows when to flare the plane ?i am interested to get one too . Kindly share some info on this .
Thanks

RE: 35% Cessna 185 Skywagon from Tmmy with Auto Pilot
Hello Ken,
We have a sensor "module" onboard.
The module is an ultrasonic altimeter that provides high resolution altitude information up to an altitude of 16 feet.
The module allows for autonomous takeoff and landing.
- Highly accurate above ground up to 15 feet +/- 1â€
- Allows for autonomous takeoff and landing
- Allows flare
We have also three dimensional compass that compensates for pitch and roll.
This accessory is useful when flying in high winds as it gives an accurate direction that the nose of the plane is pointing unlike the GPS heading which is the direction the plane is heading.
- Provides heading information
- Provides wind velocity and direction
- Allows for higher tolerance of high winds
- Provides dead reckoning capabilities
- Provides heading information with no speed - used for hovering applications
- 3-D aircraft capable as it provides accurate heading information even during banked flight - unlike the accelerometer based 3-D compass
- 2.6 x 3.2 cm

Hi Phil:
Just saw all your updates, your model looks great, takes me back to when I went through the same process.
Your paint design and colour looks great, it will be nice to see it all together.
Beila do a noice job on the props, you will be happy with it.
I see Tommy has left the servo opening in the fin for the rudder control. I changed mine but his way is alot easier.
Nice to see he has gone the way of the split cowling from the factory.
Keep up the good work..
Regards
Randy

Hi Phil:
Thank you for your updates and pictures, the model looks great.
The Mintor engines runs very well.
What type of exhaust system are you using.
What type of baffling are you using around the engine.
Just a thought, since you a are using a 4 cylinder engine such as I did.
I made my cowl flaps adjustable to allow for added air flowin warmer flying weather.
They have worked very well.
Keep us posted on your installation and updates.
Regards
Randy
