Anyone flying with the fowler track flap mechanism?

I am considering another a10 and wondering if I should try the track or the older style hinge

Thanks
Dave
Hello Dave
I may have done an error in my comment.
I didn't know that Mibo was producing a kit of flowler flaps hinges .
As evering coming from MIBO it's probably very well engineered and perfectly functioning.
For sure I'll go with that on my next A10.
Regards
Stan

I have a new A10 laying here that I will start on in a couple of months time, for this I could really use a bunch of pictures of all the details of the plane, both how you did the various things in the kit, and also of all the scale details etc. It could be nice if one of you could fill a DVD with all your pictures, and maybe bring it to JetPower ?
I know this is a long shot, but thought I would give it a shot....(i'll ofcourse pay for the costs etc!)

Hi Anurag, Carsten and Heraldo
Unfortunately I have a lot of work during september and I will not be able to come at JetPower this year.
For sure I'll come in 2014
Stan
PS: Carsten is developing a fantastic telemetry system for Futaba MZ18 that could be a great use in the A10

So with the new fowler flap track system ....I wonder how you remove one of the flaps from the track?

Dave, one side of the fowler rib is attached to the wing with countersink screws. To remove the flap, just remove the screws.
The other side must be glued.

Thanks Oli.

I am still trying to find a picture of the main and nose gear retract units (the electric version) showing the actuator and the installation in the fuse/wing. WOuld you have any pics that show this arrangement? I have seen the pics that show the struts but not the electirc gear/retract unit that will be delivered with the Gen 5.

I really enjoyed my Gen 3. The sideframes on the main retracts look similar to what I had. Do the newer ones still have metal on metal bearing or is there a ball bearing in there now?

Thanks again,
Dave

I do not have any picture of the retracts yet. You can be sure that you will see them as soon as I get them ;-)
I will also post pictures of the entire gear and retract. Should come soon as we are waiting for them to get the 6 kits complete and ready to ship...

I learned something very interesting recently while flying the A10. Its not a good idea to do a slow fly by a foot off the deck and go to full power.
can you say "touch and go". with gear up!

Its nice the main gear extends a little even when the gear is "up"
A friend here in Denmark also has an A10, it made the most perfect gear up landing (on grass), not a scratch! Rolled nicely on the main wheels.

There was a prototype in action at the last JWM. Did well, but Bogo was not super happy with the current draw from the motors. So he designed a new set of retract wall/trunion from the C50 Behotec unit with a bigger leverage effect and perfect scale strut angle.
This is the system that will be selling on the Gen 5 kit.
The first two Gen 5 ever produced are due to arrive in Houston in a couple of weeks from now.
