Well that went a whole lot quicker than expected. The twist is out, nothing like starting out with a crooked wing. LOL! Not!!

Steve I am sure you are not the only one whom frequents other forums. I am on a couple others and a few full scale ones as well.

Picked up my trailer Friday. The shelves in front have been built and the three planes I wanted in is in there. No work on the Pitts been busy in other ways and probably will be busy all week.

Now let see the new one fit in there in one piece! Had mine out this weekend, first time this year.

Nice Robert. Looks like you could fit three more, I don't know about after this one though.

Sweet!!!
I have been working on my trailer as well. My trailer interior was bare wood as yours and I have to say I found it too dark in there. I emptied out my trailer yesterday and started painting. I am also going to lay carpet and install some new shelves. I am hoping my new layout will be a little more user friendly.

Later!!
Anthony

Ken the trailer is 81.5" wide inside, the Pitts is 81.1 per specs. If I can remove the spinner to fit it will go in in one piece.

Steve three more could go in in the same fashion and I would still have half the trailer to use.

Anthony that white look's to be a lot brighter than the bare wood.

I can honestly say "I did not need a trailer this big", but can make use of it.

Robert one of these days not too far in the future you will be amazed at how you have run out of space.
I am going to be building a cabinet/counter top in the front end and use that for storage and battery charging. I am going to do a bit of research into trailer wing racks. I need to build something for holding the 1/3 scale wing panels. I need to store at least 8 wing panels. I will also be adding AC/DC power to the trailer so I can charge all my batteries in the trailer. Some LED lighting will be in order as well.

I have had mine for 3 years now and I am finally getting around to doing something with it.
Later!!

Curious Anthony, when you're pulling that trailer does it have a noticeable effect on the MPG?

Speaking of the full-scale ones, I'm sure the folks over at the Biplane Forum would love to see a build log of your progress over there too if it's not too much extra work.

VJ,
I haven't checked the mileage but I think it drops from 18mpg to 14mpg pulling the trailer. You definitely notice the difference. I am pulling my trailer with a Ranger 4x4 Off Road with the level 2 package. It has 410 gear ratio and a 5 speed automatic transmission and tow package. It is about the maximum size trailer I would pull with this truck. My next truck will be a full size for sure.

Vincent I lose about 4 mpg's as well.

Mike I don't think those full scale guys much care for a toy sized plane.

Hopefully I will get all the things needed done and be back to the build next week.

Not much. The left wing is framed with aileron attached. I think I will go ahead and do the cap strips to both halves before moving on. I am posting pics of how I ensure my throws are as much as I want during the build process, rather simple.

After looking around for a while, I'm not a fan either. I hope they get the pics fixed soon - the fact that they are not linked external and are still there years later in old threads are the gold of the forum

Holy cow! What happened? I use Google Chrome and can't get on the threads at all! Had to switch over to IE just to get this far.

So... does no one else see the photos either?

It's the same forum software as the site i'm a member of here in the UK, but my return key doesn't work on it and have to use a image hosting site (photobucket) Another vintage Restoration - Page 3
