RE: Upgrade!
I hope that they keep the "15 most active forums in the last 60 Minutes" list.. I cannot tell you how many interesting topics and conversations I have found just by looking at those listed threads!!

RE: Upgrade!
As you RCU regulars know the current forum has always had issues linking pictures to posts. It would seem that some of these issues were still not resolved by the upgrade and rather than risk a repeat of the pictures issue they are going to work on it though this week and go for it next weekend.
I am not making excuses for the IT guys but the data set they are working with is large, varied and often linked in unexpected ways. The migration is not a trivial exercise.
I have my fingers crossed for next weekend.

RE: Upgrade!
Unfortunately the Tech Staff ran into some problems over the weekend that slowed down the migration. They were not able to migrate all of the attachments to posts, this includes pictures and other uploads. They had a choice of opening RCU with the new software without attachments such as pictures or simply coming back up on the old RCU system. The logical choice here was to come back up under the old system. They are currently working to archive the attachments and the current plan is to continue the migration starting on Friday (if not sooner). I will try to keep everybody posted on the progress as we get closer.

I think we need to stop whining about it. There is a lot of responsibility keeping this running and everything will have its issues. Where will we go if this site is no more ?

OK.
Anything ... Just as long as RCU gets rid of this picture ... forever, please.
