Everyone is invited to our 3rd annual Jim LeRoy Memorial fly in Aug 1 , 2009 in McLeansboro IL . Held at the city airport . 1800 x 50 foot paved runway . Jim thrilled crouds all over the world in his pitts S2S he called the bulldog . Jim lost his life 3 years ago at Dayton Airshow and this fly in is to help rais money for his son Tommys trust fund who just turned 4 at the time of Jims death . It is also a time to remember Jim and other Airshow Pilots who thrilled us over the years and are no longer with us ... Lots of raffel prizes and awards to be given out so come and have a good time with us .,..

things are starting to come together , we are getting suport from Great planes , HITec, BSI, Tower , Hobbico , amd many other great dealers this year . Part of all money raised is going to the Jim LeRoy Memorial fund that was set up for Jims son Tommy afters Jims Death . .

With 2 more days for stuff to come in . We would like to thank Sig , Ohio Superstar , Great planes , Balsa USA , RTL Fsteners , Wild Berry Productions , J&Z , Bob Smith Industries , JB Weld , Tru-Turn , Tower Hobbies , Micro Fasteners inc. , Hitec , and Testors for donations for our raffel .

Part of all the money raises at the Jim LeRoy Memorial Fly in will go to the Jim LeRoy memorial foundation that was set up for his don Tommy LeRoy who had just turned 4 years of age at the time of Jims Death . A great part of us raising money comes from our raffel and A very special thank you goes out to those who helped .

$10 , landing fee gets you free lunch and a special gift . plus a chance to take home one of 7 awards that are very nice this year.

Saturday the Hamilton Co. Fearless Flyers hosted there 3rd annual Jim LeRoy Memorial fly in . We had some old friends and this year also had many new faces that I was glad to see. We had very nice weather . in the low 80's , with wind about 10 -15 most of the day . Would like to thank all who came and supoprted the LeRoy's and the Jim LeRoy jr. Memorial fund . I would like to also thank all the People who came through for our raffel , there names are listed above , Thank You . I hope to see all of you and some new faces at next years event .

Hey Mike, it was a pleasure to have you at our field! Thanks for the field compliments, we have a very small club that's worked very hard the last 3 yrs. to bring it up to par and try to gain new members that will appreciate it also.
It's always a pleasure also to host flyers from area clubs and make new friends.

Have you posted this to http://www.asb.tv web site? There are a lot of Jim's fans on this web site and they might be willing to come out and support the model fliers who are helping support one of their own. Just an idea. It is free to set up a membership on that web sight or you can forward me the information and I will post if for you. If you contact the administrator they may even put it on their home page.

Balsa dust , thats a great idea and will work on it for next year . I have been in contact with Joanie LeRoy from the start , she has given us her blessing and thinks its great what we are doing . I use to work as Jims crew chief at midwest shows and later fulltime with Kent Shockly . if the event grows big enough I would like to see it in world Airshow News , I will work on posting it on Airshow buzz in the future . Thank You for the input and intrest in the event .

This is a tentative Schedule of the 5th annual Jim LeRoy Memorial fly in .

-Friday August 5th will be setting up the field and getting it ready for the event . early arrivals are welcome and the field will be open for flying .

-Saturday event kicks off . food and drinks on site / pilots raffle .little model airshow at noon. also the club will be raffling off a 2 meter glider RTF w/ 2.4 radio .-2:30 awards fallowed by raffle ,

-Saturday night hanger party , 6:00pm meal tickets are $10.00 includes Pork Steak , fryed potato's/onions , Cole slaw and baked beans . camp fire , night flying . Hanger with power for charging will be open for over nighters can keep planes together.

-Sunday . food / drinks will be open , fun fly as long as you like .

The club has been workign very hard getting ready for this years event and it is starting to show . The Raffle list keeps growing and the suport from the township , this is lookign to be a great year . A new award is up this year . The most unusal award will be given away this year . So if you have something thats off the wall bring it along . I am still working on maybe having one of the areas best bluegrass bands performing Saturday night at the hanger party but nothing for sure yet.

Update !!!!!!

The hotest southern Bluegrass Band ( Snake Lane Review ) will be playing at the hanger party fallowing the fly in Aug.6 . We are shooting to have the food ready around 6:00 , with Band starting around 7:00 . Fallowed by night flying and camp fire .

also we have in our raffle a ready to fly 2 metter glider with 2.4 radio , everything built and charged ready to fly , all you have to to is win it .

As of now I know of 6 Pilots that are rolling in Friday around noon from MO. . we will be flying Friday along with setting up the field and getting ready for the event .So if you would like to come in on Friday you are more than welcome . its looking to be a great year ! remember PART OF ALL THE MONEY RAISED IS GOING TO THE JIM LEROY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION SET UP FOR JIMS SON TOMMYS EDUCATION.
