Default Wood supplier, who do you use?

I have had a rush of costumers that needed repairs on their planes, shop looked like an airplane hospital for a couple weeks...lol Any way, I have put a big dent in my stock of wood and need to stock back up...

It's been a long time since I bought other then the small stuff at my LHS, I have some big projects slated for the fall so I better get stocked up.. Do you have a supplier that you would recommend? I need larger size Aircraft ply of good quality as well as balsa, sticks and sheeting.. I would like to buy all from the same company to keep it simple..

Thanks for the help

Midwest Products ( http://www.midwestproducts.com/ ) or Balsa USA ( www.balsausa.com ). Been in the RC business for many years, best quality, best selection. Probably find cheaper sources, but you wanted quality.

I always used Balsa USA and never had a problem with them and Midwest is what I buy at my LHS, but they don't have the size ply I need, in less I am missing it on the site... The biggest they offer is 12"X?? and I need bigger 24X?? 1/8" and 1/4".. I think I might have to get my AP from someone else and use Bu for my balsa....

NOT Lone Star!!! I started buying my wood from National Balsa and have had nothing but good to say about them and there product but like you I like to get all my wood from one place and they were out of stock on some items. I decided to give Lone Star a try, I hadn't bought any wood from them sense there big fire. There wood was total crap and more crap for there service so I'm back with National again.

In the Chicago area we have a hardwood supplier called Owl Hardwood. I got a 4' x 8' sheet of 1/8" italian bending plywood for about $35. It is the same thing as lite ply. They also stock baltic birch plywood in various sizes. Of course you have to pick-up.

My friends call it cartoon wood. It's approximately 1/8". I use it for lite ply.

I used to work for a paint by number company. This wood was printed to be used for Christmas ornaments, and be die cut around the printing. The end user would paint the ornament.

This wood is scrap, with mis-alinged printing, from front to back side.

The stuff comes in handy. It's been built into at least 40 models.
