convoy light
I have been thinking (see the smoke?) about a tube type convoy light for awhile now. I think I have come up with something that works for me anyway. Opinions are welcome, but I wont promise to follow your advice. The light is on in both pictures, but it does not show up well in the daylight one. It looks much better in person.

RE: convoy light
I do have photos, but they are still in the camera. I used a green LED, clear fiber optic cable, brass tube and rod, heat shrink to seal off light connections. It is wired to a separate on/off switch and powered from the Tamyia MF unit.

RE: convoy light
Parts laid out. The end of the fiber optic must be sanded all around or the light will not reflect off of it. The sanded end is what is inserted into the brass tube. I soldered a 1/16 brass rod on it and used a dremmel cut off wheel to make the 4 holes in it before I put it in. I used a high output green LED to transfer the light. Shrink wrap the fiber optic to the end of the LED, drill holes for the mount and the cable, and super glue in place. Paint the color of your choice.
