Looks nice, I gave up some years ago waiting for it!

The wood on the servo covers looks like balsa in that picture, I'm guessing it isn't?

It was first supposed to come out back around 2009 IIRC, but good to see it's finally getting out there in force!

Do you think this plane would make a good first jet for a person that has flown RC for many years ?

In these days I completed the fixing of servos in the bases of wood (including in the kit).
I made some wooden supports for the screw that fixing the servos and under the servo I put double type adhesive for for better lock. Do accurately this work that is very very important for safety in fly…
I replaced the steel rods and the uniball incluse in the kit (2mm) with another to 3mm why I feel more safer.

The next step is glue the plate in vetronite that fixing the wings to the fuselage. These are fixed with two bolts which are inserted in holes already drilled in the bottom of the wings. The two bolts blocking the plate in vetronite (in the kit) and that are screwed on a wood support in the wings that has already glued a nuts. From the photos it is well understood…

Hello!
I have mounted the servo and closed compartments; inserting the uniball and rods for flap, aileron, rudder and elevator. I have mentioned in another post that I have replaced all the uniball to 2mm and its linkage rods included in the kit with 3mm. Nex I have mounted the Uat (Graupner 300cc) that I fixing below the main tank.

Also mounted servo for the movement of the steering wheel: i chose Hitec HS645MG 7.5 kg of traction. To tighten the screws I had to drill a hole on the plate plywood because otherwise you do not get to tighten the screws. I will use steel cables for the movement of the wheel. For fixing wing retract no problem, the space it's precise, just align them.

I also started to realize the support of the turbine.
In this case, you must know that the exact incidence of the turbine has already been given in factory to the support during assembly the fuselage. The only thing to do is to create thicknesses to position the turbine and these depending on the size of this.I have seen that there is little space between the cover of the turbine and the turbine and so also in the lower part between the discharge cone of the turbine and the fuselage. I'll have to use the dreemel to create more space in the fuselage. Just did post the photos ...

Default Pantera

Hello friends,
I have take some work in my Pantera Jet. Here there are two pictures about the work for install the turbine P100RX. The space is small and I must use the Dreemel to give a little more space fot theair between the turbine and turbine cover and bottom of the fuselage. Obviously it all depends on the size of the turbine mounted...

In these immage you can see how I solved for rudder movement: I mounted the servo internally with a bracket longer than I did come out of the fuselage. So I got a hard fixing of movment much better than the plastic sheath with steel rod which insert in the kit.

For build my model I choise the brakes produced by YT. Brake kit is easily to installed: removed the six bolts and opening the tyres. Insert the new part with the brakes but attention: it's necessary removed the brass bushings to be mounted in the new brakes kit. A small job that can be done by heating the old circle
The YT pneumatic brakes work inflating an internal air chamber that goes to make friction with the fixed part of the circle.

The work is almost complete. As you can see I ha install gear and struts with wheels and brakes. They fit perfectly in the model. I also used a mechanical valve for the brakes with a small servo.

A few of use were at the start but then they turned out to be too heavy, if it was looked at again this jet could be very popular, was intended to be flown from a P60 up but when it came out needed a P80
