Having the CG at 300mm cures the elevator blanking. My CG was at 293 for the first 2 flights and the pitch down occurred, just like Andy's video from quite some time ago. Thanks to Andy's warning, we were prepared and raised the flaps. The CG was moved back to 300mm and the pitch down and elevator blanking went away. Last fall at Super Jets South, I lowered the nose on final several times and always had plenty of elevator. I don't know the technical / aerodynamic reasons, but having the CG at 300mm will cure the problem.

I'm resurrecting this thread to echo Mike's last post. I put the nose down on final this weekend and nothing out of the ordinary happened. My CG is at 300mm. This is one sweet bird.

Hi

I am building one in this colour scheme and have posted in other thread with no reply about the rudder mod. I want to make a inside install and saw this mod, but I am concerned if this is a good install.

There is a slight slop between the brass tube and the piano wire, so flutter could happen...

What are you P200 guys using?

Also because my model is a early version, I need to install gear doors and make the wood offsets myself.[:@]Can anyone give me the wood plate dimensions and thickness?

Thanks

Regards

Nuno

I think the best rudder mod is an external linkage. I haven't modified my rudder and it's held together after 50 flights with the P-200.

Hello Guys,

Does anyone can tell me which are the improvements done on the F4 kit since 2007 ?
Maybe Anton can answer to this question ?

And one question about the fuel cells..Is it possible to install only the two main tanks (3,4 liters for both), it is enough for a good 6 min flight with a P160SX and it can save a lot of weight !

Thank you very much
Jean-Philippe

Well, after getting my F4 Dialed in, I decided to dirty her up a little bit. I flew with the cluster bombs and center drop take a few weekends ago and she does fine. Finally got the wing drop tanks mounted. Looking forward to flying her again.

I used an unorthodox method. I used graphite in a can and CA remover. I found out several years ago that CA remover will take off ca on Skymaster paint without recking the paint job. I also noticed that its the only stuff I can find that removes this type of graphite. I also found out that there are some paints on the F4 particularly the tail feather paint that will soften using that CA remover. Had to be real careful not to rub it off and get it off quickly. The overall effect was what I was looking for without painting. There were times when I had black graphite rubbed all over the jet when I was thinking to myself,, if this stuff doesn't rub off I'm screwed lol.. It took me 4 bottles of CA remover (the grean lable stuff) to get it off.

Jetcat p 200 with a Tam pipe, I would guess that I am off the ground in 300 feet and that's with the wing tanks and the cluster bombs, it climbs out with authority!

Gents,
correct John - I flew it to 19th pos in Ireland - my first WJM. We only just finished it at the factory, one quick flight and off to Ireland. It's a fantastic model to fly! If only I'd had more practice...but I always say that!

Hi Adil..hope you're well?
cheers,
