RE: Resurgence of Lado Retract Systems
hi modelers,
this videos will interest you:

and

as you see now our black were very powerfull and can lift an 800gr / 1,76lbs wheel.
the sierra Giant retract had 32cm legs... very very long... and cycle time is around 5/6 sec.
they are available with M4 and M5 shaft with 135mm of jackscrew.
they're of course Digital programmable in Delay and reverse and always plug and play in your receiver.
you can supply them from 4,8v to 8,4V
see you!!!

RE: Resurgence of Lado Retract Systems
Picked up a set of Rev B85 degree retracts. Can someone tell me how to replace struts? No set screws visable. Looks like the housing may have to come apart but want to check first.
Thanks
12/8/12 Figured it out.

Has anyone used the Lado struts? I've been most happy with Robarts on all my models. Never even seen an Lados in use. Has anyone?

Da Rock, do you use a file to flat spot the gear wire? I believe LADO is building all their gear now for 6mm wire. What Robart strut will accomodate 6mm wire. Where to get good 6mm wire?

I use a Dremel parting disc to start the flat. It doesn't make a flat flat, but quickly starts one. Then I do use a small file to flatten the flat. The file is also the most accurate way to align the flat properly.
Didn't know about the 6mm. But until they sell 100degree rotators, I won't be buying any Lados. When they do, I'll probably turn the pins down on my lathe to fit the existing Robart 650s that were fit to each model. Retrofitting can really be a pita.

I have 85 Degree LADO retracts on my mustang and they are bullet proof. It would be nice if LADO could keep up with demand and had a US distributor.

RE: Resurgence of Lado Retract Systems
I gave up waiting for 100 degree rotating retracts and bought a set of Sierra air retracts. I already had the tank, control valve and hoses. Didn't really want another set of air retracts, but for the 72" wing span EMS Hellcat the only other choice was EMS Gen. 2 Electrics which have given people a lot of trouble. The Sierras were only about $30 to $40 more than other gear. Upon receiving them, they are worth the difference. I suppose I could have spent $295 for the Sierras and then another $200 for electric actuators, if there are any that would fit, but there is a point.

I'm glad I got my original Lados from the real inventor. I would go for Wing Span or some of the new Eflites for anything in the future. The rep hasn't even posted here for over a year!!!!![:@]

Hi modelers,
even if i don't post here since a long time, i always answer to the mails you sent.
i think i have already answered to the question of the dealers in USA, i cannot oblige someone to deal with... if you want some dealers ask your wholesale shop near from you to ask us, i ll be happy to answer them.
until this time you know that you have Altecare rc in Canada who can do the job..
i think i m the most present in all forum everywhere, i ve never cut the discussion and never let someone alone with an trouble, even on a Sunday afternoon.... (found a big factory who answer you in a hour by mail on a Sunday... i think you can count them on your right hand.)
we work hard on our product and i think we have the most reliable one's.
unfortunately the 100 deg rotating it's not there, i have working this year on legs for complete set like for the CARF composite spitfire, and the P-51 it's on a way, we will also have brakes in the middle of August.
and the surprise is one big big actuator for bigger size, sale to lift 1kg (2,2pounds) legs!!
have a nice fly!

The problem with Altecare is they don't stock anything for prop planes and the tariffs and shipping are high. If you want a USAdistributer you will need to reach out to them. You also have to be able to keep up with the demand and maintain the quality at the same time. Iwould think the market for 60-1.20 size aircraft is bigger than the specialty giant scale market and I would put your effort into developing product for them.

RE: Resurgence of Lado Retract Systems
I agree with raptureboy. 60 - 120 size aircraft is a larger market then giant scale aircraft. Larger market equals more revenue for LADO. From this side of the pond LADO's focus does not make financial sense.

Shipping from Canada kills the bargin, and yes they didn't stock the parts I wanted, if I bought full retracts it would have been more expensive than buying and shipping from you.
You're loosing customers by not having a USA distributer,, why can't you see that?
