Hangar 9 Taylorcraft 26cc Wing Tube???
Hey guys can anyone tell me where I can get a new wing tube for the Taylorcraft? They seem to be all on backorder.
The tube is 21 1/2" long with a 3/4" OD. Is there somewhere else I can find something to work?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance... Mike.

OK, guys I need someone's help here please.... Is there any other plane out there or that you may have that uses a metal wing tube that is close to the same dimensions as the Taylorcraft> 21 1/2" long and 3/4" OD.... If it is longer I can cut it, if it is a little bigger OD I may be able to make it work.... Suggestions please...Thank you.

Sure. Save yourself the headache of H9 backorders etc. Go to Lowes. Find the size (OD) aluminum tube you need. If you take the one you want to replace they'll measure the OD for you. Get them to cut it the length you want. Pay for it, leave, install and fly.
Took me a while to figure that out after I bent the tube (groundloop) on my 80" H9 J-3, but worked like a charm. I also did that when the wing tube on my Aeroworks Cessna 195 got bent. (Someone knocked it off the assembly table then stepped on it....)
Good luck

Another option is , although longer and more expensive , the wing tube from the hanger 9 1/4 scale PA 18 .. I have both planes and the tubes are the same size.. Just different lengths ..
