Ever heard of an EVRA engine???
I just picked up an EVRA 1.9 as a package deal with alot of other planes and have never heard of this engine. Any one know anything about it ????? Gas mixture, prop size, RPM to expect, and all that good stuff.

Evra
Oboy, the wood pile coughs up another clunker.
Actually its not that bad, but deep down inside its a Ryobi 31cc weed wacker. That makes parts easy to find.
Use a 40/1 fuel mix to start with, try an 18x8 prop @7000 or so. Keep it under 7500, for long life. The better ones had two rings.
Good luck and good fun

Evra 190
this really was a clunker. Sold by Hobby Lobby in the 80's one of the origional rope a dope motors, wouldn't hand start worth a darn. loved the carb in the back though. Another thing is they have this really cheap stamped con rod that just loves to let go if the motor really ever runs well for any length of time

evra clunkers
Well thanks for the info.... I guess this anchor can hang on my wall of shame next to the broken props. It came with a royal 96" corsair but I wont be flying it with this engine.

RE: Ever heard of an EVRA engine???
Hi akflyer,
I had two of those for a while. I had a Model Tech Nuttin Special I used it in and found it to be difficult to start and low on power. I really became concerned when I saw the crank that looked like nothing more than layers of sheet metal. They would actually rattle.
There are lot's better motors nowdays for sure. If you are interested in trading there is a guy in CA that might have an engine you want. I have used his service several times and he is a real stand up guy.

RE: Ever heard of an EVRA engine???
Robert,
I've been out of the hobby for about sever or eight years and am now getting back into it and one of the first things I would like to do is finish my "nuttin special". Noticed you had one and wondered if I could get a copy of the manual. Thanks in advance, Bob Dane Email address: [email protected]
