Mountain Models Mini-Flash Glo Conversion
Thought I would post a pic of my mini-flash electric to glo conversion. I have had some trouble getting the Norvel .061 to work. It will pull vertical with a 6 x 2 apc prop with wot. I had to add a 1 inch block in the front to get good balance as it was a little tail heavy as an electric. It really flies GREAT!

That looks awsome! I was thinking of trying the swithback sport w/ a norvel .061. For now I'm working on an astro hog and a simple AT-6.

I'm not surprised you needed to extend the nose. Electric motors are still pretty heavy and the electrics tend to mount the battery pretty far forward as well.
I think you may just need to get some more familiarity with the Norvel. I've seen a bunch of the guys running there's and they seem to be consistenty easy to start. What specific issue do you have with running yours? I KNOW the guys here can help out.

BMatthews,
I have another post entitled Norvel .061 problems. I had a wreck and had a gasket leak, I also have a bent piston rod. Once I replaced all the gaskets it seems to run good, bent rod and all. It did not have a back plate gasket. I think I bent the rod during break in. It was tail heavy with the electric stuff.
rrrmagmanliam,
Total weight without fuel is 15 oz. That includes a 4 cell, 400 mah battery. It can do 3D but I am brand new at it. I can hang it for a little while, just not used to using the rudder. The rudder is very uncoupled from rolling. It glides nice & slow with min throttle.
