CD ROM MOTORS-WHERE $$
Have been reading about a lot of people using CD Rom motors and am wondering where can these be bought and cost of them.
Have a EFlight Ultimate with Brushless setup and T4D waiting for their Outrunner.

Just do not worry about these, these are for techies who are willling to experiment with wiring # of turn, wire gauge etc..
Do not lose your time.
Just buy the AXI 2208-34 or E-Flight outrunner, it is plug and -play with no hassle, no gear box, direct drive...
Just check the threads and you will source easily what you need depending on the plane you have

Roger,
You might want to take a look at these. They are wound and the magnets installed for dirt cheap. We are running about 12 of them now and they work great for Shockies and the small foamyfactory.com planes if you keep them around 6oz. or so. The motor weighs .9oz with an aluminum tube mount.

RE: CD ROM MOTORS-WHERE $$
Im running the handwound ones. I get them from Radio South for about $26 bucks, and they come fully assembled.
They work great, and the best part is....THEY'RE CHEAP.
I think as these things become even more popular, the prices are going to drop dramatically.
They are already coming down, as you can pick up a good speed controller for under $40 bucks now, and a decent brushless motor goes as low as 9 bucks if your willing to wind it yourself.

I flew a Littlescreamers De Novo cd rom motor at the AMA show on my heavier Tensor 4D. $45 with cnc machined mount and couple o rings. These put out about 18-19 ounces of thrust on 3S using GWS 9 x 5 prop pulling 8amps at WOT. They weigh 24 grams with mount and my Tensor hovered at half throttle

The 2208-34 is a PIG compared to a 23 gm Littlescreamer.
I'm running a Littlescreamer on a SF Super Star. 5 ounces. 2 cell 340 mAh. WOW! I've never flown anything else like it.
Good Luck!
