Go brushless if you really want speed and power.

Like SCHLEEP says, If you want that kind of speed, your only option is brushless.

To an very limited extent. If you go too far with larger diameters, they can actually slow you down because you will reach a point that the effective gear ratio is so high, the motor can no longer pull it. Also, the cost of top speed is acceleration. Raising your effective gear ratio, whether by gearing changes or tire size changes, will take away from accelration. Larger diameter tires don't play well with the stock slide shafts or the EVX either. You will twist more shafts and you run the risk of burning out your EVX running gearing that is too tall. Best bet for speed and accelration is brushless.

My twin force with the hv has about the same runtime as my stock e-maxx with the same batteries. The twin can cover a lot more ground though. It is very close in speed to the S-25 I used to have.

If you dont already know, your emaxx will go alot faster if you use 7-cell battery packs...
but otherwise, brushless is the way to go

do you have a peak charger though? If your just using something like an ac/dc timed charger, and not a digital peak charger, it wastes a LOT of valuable battery power. Peak chargers fill the battery to the maximum potential with out hurting them. Timed chargers...well...they suck. Also, what SIZE batteries are you running?

Well of course the emaxx will look like a snail next to a nitro at top speed. But it will have much more torque and acceleration off the line. If you want to race your buddy's schumie, I suggest you take it to a very tight track with lots of inclines. Otherwise buy a nitro or go brushless, and that's it really.

your running 3000's? if they are the cheap batteries, thats your problem right there. batteries are the heart of the emaxx. if you got two 3000 batteries for like 40 bucks, they are cheap and worthless batteries.

Sakura are a budget brand, having said that I've never had problems with their ni-cads. I used to run the buggy off them. I've got quality LRP Ni-Mh 3000s in atm. £60 ($100+) for the pair but worth it.

I think its been done, but a single brushless is more powerful than the twin stock motors anyhow.
Plus you'll be blowing tranny/driveline parts left & right.
