What's the best first timers plane?
My seven year old son is close to soloing his glo powered Kadet Senior and he's already wanting a park flyer. Can you believe it?
Of course, daddy doesn't mind the idea either. So,,,,,,,,
What would be a good choice for us in a arf? Something that's tough and easy to fly. I've got several Zagi packs and the charger, one Jetti and one FMA mini 15 esc's. It would be nice to be able to use this stuff and save some dough.
I'd also like something that would be easy for my son to build with me.
Any advice is very much appreciated!
Thanks

I like the mini IFO you could use your packs and mini servos and receiver The GWS motor is $20.00 retail. IFO can be bought for about $50.00 or made on your own for about $15.00 and they are nearly indestructible. My boys and I fly it in the backyard and the basement between indoor fly meets.

The IFO is a great park flyer to start out with.
It is inexpensive, indestructible, and a whole lot of fun!
I don't know what kind of radio you have, but you would also need some way to mix the servos for the elevons.
I hope you enjoy what ever park flyer you choose!

IFO
We saw some IFO's at our field this past weekend and they looked pretty fun. Not much like an airplane but easy to build and a pretty good flyer.
It's either an IFO or a Lite Stick.
Thanks for the tips!

I would vote for the GWS SlowStick. For about $150 or even less if you have the parts around, you can be up and flying. Everyone who flys mine (even the seasoned glow pilots) come away with a smile on their face. With an 720 mah NiMH battery pack you can easily fly for 15 minutes on a single charge. Check this thread on the E-Zone. Some of those folks are even using the SlowStick as an aerial camera platform.
