RE: OS.46 ax airboat
The boat is 2" thick with a 1"recess. The engine mount is recessed 3/16" more for a flush fit.
I have now made several boats with the lowered CG and the performance is still up in the air for me. I drive these boats very hard the they always end up like subs.

These airboats average speeds of high 30's to high 40's .... Granted , there IS a record of over 100 for one though ... but again , the average RC airboat usually runs around a little less than half of the record .

RE: OS.46 ax airboat w/video
In my times, I have not seen any video of the boats running 100+ mph. I have read an article in a magazine about it...can't remember teh name of the magazine. It was showed to me by Pro27. He sent me a pic but I seemed to have misplaced it.
The airboat is more like a float plane rather than a typical airboat.
