I apparently left my air compressor and fire extinguisher at the flight line on Sunday afternoon. If you retrieved them, I would appreciate an E-Mail.

Thanks

Does anybody have any info on this U-2 that was on display at Bardstown? It's a great looking (big) airplane that I expect would fly well.

This model is a scratch project by Jack Beetz.

Jack told me he designed the plane from a set of drawing which he drew up. It is currently powered by a Ram 1000 and to my knowledge has not flown yet. It is a great looking bird and a great technological acheivement. I agree it should fly well, but it will defintely be overpowered.

I remember watching the full scale U-2's take off at Davis-Monthan AFB (Tucson) back in the 70's. They would climb out almost vertical so I'm not sure anything less would be considered "overpowered" from a scale perspective. Granted, at altitude (60,000+) the effective thrust was minimal and other than take off it would not take much power to fly the model either, really just a great big glider.

YEah, you are right, after takeoff though, it will probably just fly around at high idle.

Well since no one will post pics I put a few on here that my daughter took. Never leave your camera where the kids can find it or there's no telling what you might find on there....
Tommy
Two of the pics are the Skymaster F-5. One belongs to Nick (Congrats Nick on a very successful test flight, she looked great) and the other is a modified F-5, painted silver and looked great on the ground and in the air.

A very budy flight line. A couple of the new large BVM F-86's on the tarmac. One belongs to Scott Harris, and the other I believe is Mr. Violett's personal competition plane.

Lots of beautiful planes (eye candy) at the meet. The weather was not too good on Friday and the delays of openeing up the flight line prevented any early morning flying, but the meet was a big success with everyone seeming to be enjoying themselves....

A very beautiful F-100. I am a big F-100 fan, and think these make one of the nicest looking scale aircraft kits available. I wish I had the talent to build and fly one of these pups, but like Clint Eastwood says in one of the Dirty Harry movies..."A man has got to know his limitations"...

Paul "Hollywood" Blanchard not only had his infamous F-104 Starfighter there, he also debutted his new CJM Cougar. Radio problems kept it grounded but he plans to have it in the air soon. The only flaw I found was the pilot was wearing Air Force insignia in a NAvy plane. C'mon Paul you can't play both sides of the field....

As for Johnny Im not really sure why he isn't posting yet, The Ga Gang caught up with him just the other side of Nashville in his TURBO Home and at the speed he was going (90)mph we put in Miami around Midnight last night.[8D] So Johnny what gives? Let see some of this incriminating evidence you've collected on the Gang and Larry, Frances and Vern.

Hi guys I'm A-OK.

Wife wanted me to stop and visit Mickey Mouse, so here we are and will be going home tonight.

Craig my friend, Fire away on my stab ** You are not getting away from the little Joy Ride you and your friends took that night **

I havent posted anything cause I forgot my camera charger at home and of course , It's dead [:@] But my pics will be here shortly.

Steve Collins, my buddy, wons one of my other favorites, a JMP T-33 is a very cool, yet simple, color scheme. Steve is a meticulous scale modeler.....

Another pic of the flightline (other side), Saturday was crowded but everyone handled it really good. Although I left a little early on Saturday I never saw any significant problems...

Tom, "the BVM guy" kept a planein the air all day long. He made a great landing with Mig when the main gear failed to deploy. He landed it on the grass on the far side of the runway and it was so slow you could have caught it. I doubt it put a scratch on it.....

A pair of Cats on the flightline...One good thing came out of the trip. I took my family with me and my wife really enjoyed the jets in the air. She turned to me and said "Why don't you have one of those???" pointing to the Kingcat. Of course Dustin was flying his like a maniac and making it look way too easy. I sheepishly told her how much it cost, and she said "Well maybe for Christmas"...We'll see, I"ll let you guys know, but my guess is it is gonna cost me a lot more than the published price, unless BV starts giving away a mink coat with every purchase...
