moki 2.10 and perry pump
I am planning on running a perry pump with my moki. This is a new engine for me and I have a question about the carb. The fuel inlet is a banjo fitting which has a gasket on one side (the carb body side). When attempting to run the engine fuel leaks from the inlet fitting. I have attempted to seal the fitting but have not fired the motor. Does anyone with experience with this setup have any suggestions? thanks.

First of all welcome to a very cool RC website and forum. Also you are in luck as I know exactly what your problem is. I had the same thing happen to me at wide open throttle using the Perry pump on my Moki 1.80. The fuel starts to drip out of the needle assembly due to high pressure generated by the pump (your engine cannot consume all the fuel the pump is sending it). If your banjo/needle assembly is tight, just reduce the pump pressure/flow by leaning out the Perry pump. Turn it counter clockwise to lean it out. It's opposite of a typical high speed needle. Only turn it in small increments until the fuel stops leaking. This situation can cause some really weird running conditions and possibly a crash if you're not careful (erratic running). When the fuel stops dripping it's probably fine. Maybe lean it out just a tad more after it stops dripping to be safe.
How far back is your tank from the engine?

Hmmm, I had problems with the Perry pump on my DPM Edge 27% with the tank on CG. It was about 20 inches back. I used that bypass loop and all the fuel just flowed back to the tank when I hovered or in a steep upline (and flamed out). I ended up using a Cline regulator and it's perfect for tanks that are far from the engine. No leaning out at all when I'm vertical or high G manuevers. You may end up starving the engine if you lean out your pump too much (while you are flying vertical or high G stuff). Adjust it a little and when the fuel stops dripping make sure the engine stays running when you point it vertical at full throttle. Have someone point the plane up while you run it up. That's a good way of testing it without having to fly it. It works for me. I'd really recommend the Cline but if you can get the Perry working then by all means keep it on there.

The tank is in a patty wagstaff extra and has been relocated to the cg position. It is some distance to the engine. I appreciate the help.

I agree with JoeAirport
I have 4 Moki, all of em have the Cline regulator. I scratch build so all of my airplanes are set up with the fuel tank on the CG. The Cline makes it easy, nothing to fiddle with.
