Anybody know anything about an OS Max .20
I bought this plane complete with the engine for $25. The engine is brand new. Does anybody know how old this thing is. Its an OS Max FS .20 , on the carb is says OS A2. I've never had an engine this small, what would be a good prop to start with. I took the head off and it looks like the pistion is bronze. Can anybody give me the lowdown on this little guy. Thanks.

os 20
Looks like an FP 20 , they are a nice little engine, start with an 8X5 or 6 , will also turn a 9X4 or 5. They are no longer in production and were produced as OS cheap engine for a long time.

OS Max 20
One sweet little engine that runs as well as any in this size range... The memories come flooding back ...
It's a keeper. Not the strongest in this size around today, but a classy little motor that will keep on giving if put to use, and treated halfway right. Will turn a 9x4 or 9x6 quite happily on cheap 5% fuel.

Oh, yeah! Nostalgia! I probably put 400 flights on one of those with my first trainer. Ran well, started easy, turned a 9 X 6 APC no problem till I wore it out.

it is an OS FP, I have a NIB also. They runs very reliably. I think you can download manual for FP engines at http://www.osengines.com

I still run the OS 15FP in a SIG Wonder. I agree, this is a very reliable engine. I have the air bleed screw completely closed because on my landing final leg I definitly want the engine to quit. Also, removed the baffle/spacer from muffler. There are quite a few small OS FP's (.10 to .25) in our club. Most are on small very old, very ugly, re-built and modified trainer type planes. In some cases these poor little engine have to puff, and puff just to get airborne only to plunk back down on the ground because some old geeeeeeeeeeeeezer couldn't take-off right.
