New Style Futaba Servo Grommets
Okay, this seems like a really silly question. I have all older futaba servos with thick individual grommets on each hole having metal eyelets that go all the way through. I purchased a new standard servo the other day and it included 4 double hole grommets that were half as thick. The metal eyelets are half as thick also. I have no instuctions and am just wondering how thier suppost to be installed? My first quess was that you just put one on the bottom side of the servo with the nubs inside the servo and the metal eyelets come down through sitting on the plastic of the servo hole. This would mean that there would be two grommets as spairs? My other thought would be to put one on each side of the servo hole but then the metal eyelet only goes though one half of one grommet? could someone please enlighten me?

RE: New Style Futaba Servo Grommets
I used the double grommet on the bottom side of the servo. I had the flared side of the metal eyelets on the bottom of the grommet and coming back up through the grommet. In order from top to bottom,
1. Plastic openings on the servo.
2. Rubber grommet
3. Metal Eyelet with flare side facing down, and shaft of eyelet going back up through the grommet.
This is the setup that I used on my recent build and I have had no problems whatsoever.

From the servo rail upwards: grommet, servo, grommet. Install the eyelet with the flange down. The two-piece grommets, along with the pitiful little servo screws Futaba started supplying several years ago, is one of their WORST ideas!
That's why I buy Hitec servos and JR servo hardware.

Yep. Those servo grommets are a pain in the arse. I quit buying Futaba servos when 70% of my 25-30 3004's went bad. Hitec all the way for servos now!
