RE: Schumacher Online Sales???
ehobbies.com used to be THE PLACE for Schumacher. I went in to order a Schumacher Menace GTR 1/8 car after saving my nickels and dimes, and saw the long list of Schumacher products was gone.
I e-mailed ehobbies and they said it was an error from a site rebuild. A Schumacher rep contacted me and said ehobbies was still their big US supplier. For ehobbies, they said 'bear with us a few days as we rebuild the site, and add more parts and products.' Well, I stuck it out and waited a month, and then sent more e-mails, which proceeded to fall on deaf ears.
So, while one can go to racing-cars.com and buy direct from Schumacher, I opted not to go that route. I nocited alot of 'out of stock' status on item. Alos, manufacturers set list prices and sell at list price, so it seems more expensive all around to me.
I did find some big dealers in NJ and FLA (just type in the name of the product you want into google and dealers will pop up). Unfortunately, I determined that Schumacher wasn't taking a firmer stance on U.S. soil losing their big on-line dealer, and decided not to gamble on them.
My next move didn't make alot of sense, because I bought a Kyosho Inferno GT 1/8 rally car instead. Kyosho has a tiny presence compared to when Tower Hobbies had all their products. However, I do know that Kyosho built a US headquarters and is starting to feed dealers, and they are serious about the US market, just not going thru the "Great Planes" dealers like Tower. Plus, Hobbytown still deals with them, so I ordered thru Hobbytown USA, who will support anything you buy from them.
Try HobbyTown USA if there is one around, or type the product name (and number if possible) into Google. You'll get good hits. Or, like others said, try direct from Schumacher at www.racing-cars.com
But, buyer beware: Small dealer network and who knows what their commitment to the USA really is.....???????
