Fc 33% or 3w 32%
I posted a similar question on the giants, but I think that only people with the FC answered. I would like to know which of these two you would buy. Why? do you fly the plane you are recomending or is it just you just saw one at the field.
Thank you for your help. It is not every day that you get to buy one of these and I would like to be the right one

I replied earlier. I fly the 33%(actually 35%) FC Extra. All I can say is it flies better than some 40%'ers out there. haven't flown the 3W so I can't make an acurate comparison. But I KNOW how the FC flies. (which is EXCELLENT) My favorite move it deadstick elevators and blenders. It glides soooooo well, those are posible. And then blenders, it comes down in the flat spin slower than with the motor running, it just like floats. It is something you have to feel when you fly. It lands at a walking pace, but mine it light compared to others. I have the CF gear and tailwheel bracket. My FC weighs a little under 22 pounds dry with a DA-100. I love it for both IMAC and Freestyle. And so will you :-)

My FC will torq at about 2-3 clicks above idle, no joke. At 4, you are climbing quickly. My goes like a bat outa heck :-) But, I fly mine hard, and I can fly at full power in a straight line (Horizontal, not a downline) and have no worries about structural problems. I run a 27x10 Menz on mine for 3D and an Air models 3 blade 24x12 for IMAC. I run stardard DA mufflers. Like i said earlier, my FC weighs a little under 22 pounds dry.

330Flyer,
You replied to a post that I made in the giant forum. I got mine painted in the mold and is suposed to be the lightest way to get one. The manufacturer claimes 24lbs with a DA100. How did you get your plane so light?I figured with carbon gear standard on this plane and a fuse that has few formers there wouldnt be any way to reduce the weight, especialy by over two pounds. Have you weighed it on an acurate digital scale? Any tips on getting mine lighter would be apreciated. Thanks for replying to my post

We use calibrated gram scales - then ounce scales to 2 lbs - then 5 lb -then 25 lb scales - to insure weight savings are not just a pipe dream.
A 22 lb FibreClassics sounds very optomistic.
My own 22 lb 33% models are pretty light -and yes I have handled the 33% FibreClassics -
It really is a beautiful kit -and 24lbs seems to be " typical"

My FC is stock, it has the wings with the white top and red bottom and nothing more. I weighed it on a digital bathroom scale. I weighed it again today to make sure and is now at a little over 22 pounds. (I weighed it new at the begining of the year so I wanted to do it again anyway) I got mine, bolted everything in and flew, I didn't worry about weight, so I don't know how it is that light. I think the CF main gear and tailwheel bracket helped though. And I also run a ZN Line CF Spinner. Hope this helps.

My brother and I have 2 FC 330Ls and both weigh in at 24.4 pounds so they weigh almost 24 1/2 pounds I Have yet to here of one under 23 pounds 1 of the ones is the stock painted in the molds and it weighs 24.4 and the other was a white on top and blue on the bottom that I painted the entire airplane but where the white is left I did not clear the bottom of the wings and stabs I used vinyl to put the checker board pattern on the bottom and the weight of the one I painted and cleared is also 24.4 pounds so I also wonder if the paint in the molds is really weight savings or not I doubt that yours weighs 22 pounds we also have ZN line carbon spinners all FC come standard with the carbon gear and tail wheel. It is the best 33% size airplane for all around precision flying and real good on 3D but the Troy built models Extra 260 is A better 3D airplane the one we are currently flying weighs in at 22 1/2 pounds. you might want to check it out if you are looking for a light airframe.

The one FC that I painted was done with House of colors Paints I also left alot of the white. I can believe the 23.7 pounds but do not see one being 22 pounds or under.

I am running A DA 100 with stock mufflers and nothing was done different on set up than FC sends but put double horns in the control surfaces to use a Ball link the rest of both planes are Stock. The scale I use is a digital postal scale and has been tested against accurate scales. and also tested by a Person who thought it was off when it said his 35% bird weighed 32 pounds he brought out calibrating weights to check it and also said it was dead on he could not believe his airplane weighed that much. also am running dual recievers and batteries Have also landed one on 1 reciever from battery failure so 1 reciever is not an option to me the 2 saved an airplane so 1 is not worth risking the amount of money in this type of airplane.

Don't count out the AI 3W 330

This plane belonged to my friend and I was able to fly this plane on many an occasion. It has the 3W85 in it and flew as well as our 40% 330's. The plane is rock solid and a terrific performer. I wouldn't overlook this plane if I were you....... you won't be disapointed. If i could I'd order me one today.

Thanks 330 , Shill and Quist for the great info.
Its like Xmas eve for me cause I pick up my plane in the morning at LAX
Quist, If you get a chance I would Like to see pics of your fuse setup. This must be the plane you are selling? If I didnt already have a new DA I might have bought yours. It looks very nice
How about any flight characteristics?
Knife edge coupling,Inverted push, uplines and downs, harrier stability, torque rollability and all around performance.
Will I see much difference from my 35% radiocraft 330l ?
Great looking planes!
Thanks again in advance

That looks like a nice setup. I went the "standard" route and built myself a servo tray from CF and put the two servos in-line and hooked them together. Do you like that setup Quist?
