LT-40 on floats landing gear
About a year ago maybe less someone had posted some pics of an LT-40 on floats with what looked like bent aluminum straps to attach the floats, not the typical landing gear wire. I was wondering if someone remembers who it was so I could get more info so I can build some for myself.
Thanks, Chris

RE: LT-40 on floats landing gear
Chris, I've attached a drawing of the aluminum struts I made for my wife's LT-40 and a couple pics of a friend's plane. The are 1/8" X 1" aluminum I bought at Home Depot. Hope this helps.

Check your e-mail. I sent you the dimensions you requested. Here they are in case the e-mail didn't work. The strut length from the fuse to the float is 7 1/2" and the spreader is 19".

RE: LT-40 on floats landing gear
Hi, the LT-40 in the picture with the yellow arrows is mine. I have the measurements for the aluminum landing gear that I got from seaplane. I used the 1" by 1/8" stuff, but if you want to save some weight and money, use the 3/4" by 1/8". The 3/4" stuff should have more than enough strength. You should be able to find it at Home Depot, thats where I got mine.

RE: LT-40 on floats landing gear
I don't think my attachment loaded right, I'll just give the measurements. The first yellow arrow from the plane to the float is 7.5", and the long spreader bar is 19". Also, the part that attaches to the plane is 3.5" wide, and the "feet" that attach to the floats are 2"
