Check out this New Boeing model! Its not an RC Plane, but I know we are all here because we love planes anyway.
P.S.- After checking the link out vote on how cool you think it is. [8D]

Somehow, Marcham, despite the cool interior and improved air conditioning, I can only picture myself crammed in with a bunch of oversized passengers, waiting to get out of the thing while fifty people dig huge bags out of the overhead bins.

What does this one do that the -37, -47, -57, -67, and -77 don't? Has it got to do with the seatpergallonpermileperdollar statistics? I think they ought to take the C-17 and put a second story and seats in it. An airliner that can take off and land in the distance that thing can would impress me, plus be a lot more fun to ride in.

The CASM is supposed to be very low with this new model. Much better than the A350, which is nothing more than a re-engined A330. Boeing is going to be very busy producing these - the order list is already pretty big. Watch out when they take this design technology to replace the 737. In an age of very high fuel prices this plane will do very well.

The 787 is supposed to be more efficient than other planes. I know of a few things that are new about it such as a different wing design, lot more use of composites, and everything is electrically powered instead of using bleed air from the engines for cabin pressurization and ice protection.

Haven't seen the specifics on fuel/range/payload, but looks like the next logical step for BAC... Evolutionary, not revolutionary IMO... Apparently spurred by Airbus' inroads into to Boeing's sales...

I read that the cabin is pressurized my electric motors driving turbo compressors. The are getting taking the use of bleed air to mins for better burn. OH well, Im still not a structural composite believer though. A good portion of our fleets today are 20+yrs old. Composites are life limited so I would like to see how it does 15 yrs from now.

It's just more of the same, and to a grester degree.
But when I go for a ride I srill follow the "ABA" rule - Anything But Airbus.
Bill.
