thanks mate, I'm running the 23turn Sports Tuned Tamiya motor at moment. Just not powerful enough! hehe i think i might look into the stock motors... see how they go.

Thank God!....Just what I'm looking for!.....some good advice!
The local model shop down my way "Dont know jack".......and its killin me!
Being new to the sport, I need alittle direction.
Brought my self a TT01...limited I know, but once I've finished should be an animal right?
This is just to have fun with, not to race, but I'm going for off the line speed.

Concerns: gearing, what the hell do I need?

Well the stock TT-01 comes with the lowest gearing you can get for it, so with gearing leave it stock.

With that set-up, you will see around 60mph and gear/tranny SOUP!!! That motor is way to powerful for the car, try the 1 star Neo..


Also you CAN purchase Take-Off tires seperate from rcmart.

Is there anyway to build the tranny/gear up? frekin model shop was more than happy to sell all this to me, with little advice!!!!!!

Haha no way to beef it up.. I would just sell the motor, will prolly fetch around $60US if its never run. Then just buy a new one, cost around $75US.

Sorry I didn't give advice sooner.

But you can try it, but it will destroy ur diffs, pinions, and spurs.

Yeah thats the motor you want. But I do warn you that you will end up in the red a little..

What you can do if you don't want to sell the motor, run the esc on "sportsman" setting, and it has about the same RPM as a good arcing 19t motor, but lots more torque.

I know this is true that it will definately destroy the standard gear sets... but what if u were to go for some type of aftermarket setup? does anyone sell spurs and pinions that are metal for the tt01? or ones that arent specifically for tt01, but will fit the shafts.

also with the diffs... what if you went for ball diffs? and full alloy uni shafts and axle cups, etc.

I'm only new to R/C but i would have thought these options would be out there?

I'm fairly new to R/C and I've had my TT-01 since last year. It's a great kit for beginners alike and good for tinkering with.

One thing that I'm not to sure about is what gear set should I go for. I would like to have max speed and I've got a Tamiya SuperStock TZ Motor, Alloy shaft with all ballraced.

Well I'm using the Tamiya GT Tuned 25 turn motor (just swapped it out from the Duratrax one), and I'm using a 26 pinion with a 55 spur gear. The acceleration is still pretty quick, and the top speed isnt too bad either. The engine doesnt overheat and I get descent amount of run time with a Tamiya 1400 mAh battery.

So that might suit that engine fine. Maybe a 27 or 28 pinion gear since those TZ motors rev out another 6000-7000 RPM over the GT Tuned motor.

Personaly, I would try the 3 star in sportman before buying a new motor. I bet it will still go great. Give it a shot and if you don't like it advertise it as used once.

Ermmmm with the 55t spur, you can ONLY fit in 1 pinion with the correct mesh. I can't be bothered going to check what one it is. I would go with 58/23. It's a really good combo IMO.

The guy that want's to rally his TT-01, it shouldn't be too hard to do. I would get some rally tires and CVA Oil filled mini-shocks.

Bigger pinion equals more speed, smaller spur gear equals more top speed. The opposites are true.

Well guys I finally got to "Speed Trap" the TT-01. Unfortunately I only did it with a non-matched battery that was half dead lol.

So keeping all that in mind, my average was a bees doodle under 49kph. I'm sure if I geared it harder I would be over 60kph, because I am gettting wheel spin to about 30kph..

i would get prop shaft becaues you are runnin stock moter so there is no need to cool the moter
