RE: Kentucky Jets 2006
hey guys, how many registered pilots did you end up with? seems like the mid-west is really split up with 4 events in 6 weeks. it would be nice if all the promoters would be in touch w/each other to maybe schedule better. in current times -$ 3-500 a weekend is making tough when so many events are so close together. we all can't make them all and low turnouts are going to make the hard work of the promoters go for not if they can't break even to pay the bills. just 2 cents worth on my mind

Hey Lighting, how much did the Jimbo pay you to post the T shirt thing: "Ruff Day Flying with Roger"????
Say, your dossier picture is whiter than your pilot....what gives?

Well gerr,
Heres my .02, attending events where there are only 1-3 pilots up in the sky at one time is my preffered venue. The likes of the big events with 4-7 jets and factory jocks getting free passes of routine high speed turns towards the pits and blistering 199.99 mph passes, on the deck 40 foot out in front of the pilots line is not my cup of tea. I search out the lower turnout events for stick time. And there was plenty of that @ KJ.
All the promoters have to figure out is a budget that works for realistic turnout goals. I'm not so sure all the perks are needed at every venue. Apparel, meals and after hours entertainment are not the norm in any other R/C discipline I've been associated with since 74', Jets seem to be the only venue in which this keeping up with the Joneses mentality exist.
Great event AMT, Lewis and all the crew associated with. I was able to burn 7 gallons of kero over 2 days. look forward to another reasonably sized event next year............

Hey Roger, I didn't know that the shirt was refering to you. But, now that I think about it, I understand. Poor Jim []
As for the dossier pic, it was taken before I was able to get to the Tanning Salon.

I would like to thank all involved for the most memorable event of my life. Everyone was wonderful and cooperative. I don't have to say we had a good time, the pictures say it all. The massive AMT tent produced a family atmospherre for the entire event (there will be three of the big tops next year). I don't recall of anything negative the entire event. Cooperation and fun was the order of the day. AMT and General Tool stepped up big time, and we are already planning for next year. Make your plans for the same weekend (July 5-8-07).

RE: Kentucky Jets 2006
Hi Lewis
Great to here you had an excellent event. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it this year, but we will do our best for next year. Either way we'll be onboard as a sponsor always!
Sincerely,
Ed

RE: Kentucky Jets 2006
Just got home from KY Jets about 2 hours ago. What a great event! The organization, hospitality and enthusiasm rivaled that of any full-scale airshow I've ever flown. Had a blast flying through the below-runway-level slalom course
A big thanks to John, Rodney, Russ and all the guys from AMT for their support, and to Lewis, Chris and Jessica for their tremendous energy on the local front. (I'm sure I missed a bunch of names, but it is after midnight.) And thanks to the Kentucky FSDO (FAA) for allowing this event to happen at all.
Great job guys!!!!
Bob

I had a great time at KJ , one of the best events I have ever went to in 21 years of model aviation life. This was my first Jet event that I have ever flown at and it was such a great experience. I had a few friend that I had already knew from before ,but when it was all over I knew everyone there, very laid back and the big circus tent made everyone even more laid back,
The weather was Great for all the days, and their was plenty of flying for everyone. I think some of the guys never shut off their planes to refueling. The lunches, and dinners were way above any beyond. The kids play area was great, and if you guys didn't know it was for adults to ( don't ask me how I know, I just know)
Thanks to Amt/ USA, General Tool, Jessica, and Lewis (the General) Patton ,and many other to make this event run smoothly. Deweyd

Ronnie,
Thanks for the pictures. I am really ticked that I could not get the time off to come. This year's work schedule stinks.... Maybe next year.
Paul (aka Hollywood) I see you are up to the usual high standards, your F-5 looks awesome. Maybe I can catch up with you guys soon.
Tommy
