anyone heard of team vertex?
Was reading rc car, stumbled on this ad for Team Vertex. buggy looked interesting, so I went to their web page.
http://www.teamvtx.com/v2/default.html
Truggy is a good price, but you know what they say... you get what you pay for. Anyone heard anything?

RE: anyone heard of team vertex?
I read the posting on the GS website again. These vehicles are not GS based, they are actually the guys that used to run GS racing in the USA.
For the prices that they are offered at, I will give that truggy a try.

The GS guys are top notch, they will not let you down with parts. There will be a few companies importing this truck, which means parts distribution will be very good.

Himoto is importing the same/similar vehicles, however, the VTX ones will have slightly different/better options. I would trust the guys from the old GS USA company any day. Not saying anything bad about Himoto, just dont know them yet. Email Garen at HobbyDepot, he can help with more questions. For the price guys, you cant go wrong.

ThunderBirdJunkie,
The RXB-1 is not made by Himoto, it is distributed by Himoto in the USA. A similar, more hopped up version will be distributed by TeamVTX, and as I mentioned, their version will be better and more hopped up than any other versions making their way into the North American market.
There is always a company that makes the vehicles, then distributors order their 'specs' and distributes that product. Here is another company in Italy that is selling a similar vehicle http://www.mantuamodel.com/nuovelaro_d5.htm

RE: anyone heard of team vertex?
Does anyone know of an American or majority-American company that makes a good truggy? By American I mean one that is headquartered here and/or the vehicle parts are manufactured here. I know it's probably just a pipe dream, but it's worth a shot. Thanks for your responses.

easytiger, I believe CEN is based here in the states, isn't it? and you also have Team Losi coming out with a truggy version of the 8ight (from what I've heard), not to mention the "Muggy" (which is a flat-chassis LST, not QUITE a truggy...)

Thanks, Thunderbird Junkie! I was pretty sure that CEN Racing was here, I didn't know that Losi was working on a truggy. Do you have any idea when it might be available? I think I might go with CEN - depending on the release date and the price. Thanks again for the response.

No clue, at this point the Losi 8ight truggy is mostly a rumor. The CEN truck looks GREAT IMO, and if I do the truggy thing I intend to get one.

Hi Speed seems to have a pretty extensive network that their cars reach, Smartech for some models, SPEED, Red Cat, Himoto just to name a few. These cars are coming, Himoto may have an exclusive version perhaps. The VTX version will be a nicer product, and that is where my support will go.
The CEN truggy/buggy are not made here. CEN/Genka trading is the North American office/distributor for CEN products, which are made in Asia. The only way you will get an North American built truggy is if Losi does make an 8ight truggy. The Muggy is designed in the US, but it is tooled in Asia. Not a bad thing at all, unless you have your heart set on something truly made here. The way I look at it, every Truggy I have had were made in North America, in my basement, when I put the kits together
