RC18T Mamba Sprint Car Finished!!!!
Well since there was no response to my post yesterday, I'm assuming there's no interest in this type of vehicle so I'll post these pics and unsubscribe from the thread. If you're interested in seeing more, go to my website (it's under my name on the left), and click on RC forums, you'll find me posting about them in the other forums where people are interested. I'll make the side panels on the wing a little shorter on the next one . I'll be starting it tomorrow. Green and white with Kodiak Decals #27

RE: RC18T Mamba Sprint Car Finished!!!!
Sprint cars aren't designed for right AND left turns. I'm only going to use it with the wing on the 20' dirt banked dirt oval my son and I will have finished in my back yard by next weekend. Turning left on a banked turns you want it to be a little heavy there. If I decide to run it elsewhere I can remove the wing.

It's rough now. Just a little dug up brickwork where there used to be a small patio My son's bringing a shovel for taking up sod tomorrow. He does landscaping for a job. I'm going to outline it with an edger then he's going to lift the sod out. The end where the patio was is already banked and along the fence where the outside straight is, is slightly banked too. It's going to be 20' long by 8' wide the straight will each be 3' wide, plenty of room for 4-6 1/18th Sprints, Modifieds, or Trucks

I have a couple gram scales at work that I don't use anymore(they wanted me to do portion control, yeah right!). I'll bring one home tomorrow. The body is light compared to the wing.

Yep, it's a Factory Team RC18T with a Mamba Competition Pac in it. I have another on these bodies and wing kits for the 18T to do and tomorrow or Tuesday my MiniT 2 Sprint cars and 2 Modifieds should be here. Late model stockers will be next. I've got 2 more MiniT trucks coming in to my RC store Tuesday too. Can't have a body without a truck under it! LOL

Lousy weather for pictires. Maybe tomorrow. I'm going to work on making the wing smaller on the Red and White car. Pretty sure I know what I need to do so I don't ruin the one that's on there now. I went and picked up the 4 new MiniT bodies(2 Sprint Cars and 2 dirt Modifieds) at UPS this morning.

From what I see in those pics, you will want some different tires.
Edit: How does the wing stay on top of the body like that? Servo tape?

Exactly(servo tape). I'm going to try running those tires at 1st to get more realism in the turns. If they're too loose I have a ton of the stock tires/wheels in a box. And if I want to get serious and really "hook up" it's not a problem to go buy the tires and wheels that I need.

Ok, thanks. Tell me how those tires work on the track, and if the wing stays on. Whichit should but want to know. I might get one of these bodies, look cool, but I think the wing will get damaged easily.

Please do. You'll be happy to know 1 is a Mamba and hopefully the other will be too. I'm going to buy a new motor for it, if my RC store guy is able to get the ESC 25 replaced for me. I had to buy a new one. The last one was only 2 months old and just dies, just dies for no reason......so if I get a new one, I'll just buy the new motor.

There'll be more coming. this is a MiniT sprint Car. I have 2 of these to do for now(I'll have at least 4 of these bodies). I won't be running wings on the 2WD Losi though. I don't think they can handle the extra weight. After those I have the 2 Modifieds to do.

RE: RC18T Mamba Sprint Car Finished!!!!
For now the MiniT is out of the box stock. I'm looking forward to using them like they are with street tires for the drift in the turns like their "Real" Big Brothers. I may go to Mambas in them, but I'll have to get 4 of them and thats around $600 USD. for 2WD trucks? I don't know.....It would be different if I only had to do 1 for myself, but I need to do them all for when friends come over or for my 2 sons that don't own RCs. Who knows, I may have 6 MiniTs within the next couple weeks. 4 for sure.
