These are pictures of a nitro truck i believe.....it was given to me just how you see it..... no body and i cant find any numbers or names on it....the servos are futaba.....the motor says .12 PD....and the transmitter cover says koyosho....i need parts and a motor for this so please help me in determining what the heck ths car or truck is!!!!!

nitro hawk made by traxxas late eighties, early nineties. i had one and loved it. it came with a funky rubber pipe that killed the motors torque. mine came with an image .12 by traxxas. i installed mip's 360 stinger pipe kit and a os slide carb and it would pull wheelies after that. yours already has the mip pipe kit and your engine is a paris designed dynamite dish piston engine and if your compression is good, it will be fast. thats about all i know/remember, about them. i recognized it because of the unusual brake setup that it uses. and the way the clutch is on backwards compared to newer models like my losi adam drake xxx-nt. like i said, if the motor is ok, it will be fast. if not, drop a cheap powerplant in it and have fun.

Ok well someone else told me is was an associated nitro hawk.... i wish i could seriously find out whats going on here...im so confused...if someone really knows what it is please redirect me to get parts....i was told the motor needed a sleeve and piston ...i was also told it was cheaper to get a new motor and i need some reared parts!!!

IT IS A TRAXXAS. associated didnt make the nitro hawk, traxxas did, i had 1, and that is what it is.

Hello and welcome to the forums!
you say you need a motor ? is that one frozen (Locked up)?
If its been sittin a while...new fuel lines, glow plug, and fresh fuel it may fire off !
I got an old rc10 gt that they said it was worn out, but after tryin a few things (like said above) it ran.
looks like a nice vintage truck.

I have put new glow plug and cleaned fuel lines filter and tank..........dont have a good starter box so can really keep it running.... only thing that keeps it running is holding the little airplane starter thingy to it....put i dont know what else to do someone please help....any help will be much appreciated.....also take a look at pic number 2 at the rearend part that needs to be replaced...any help e-mail to [email protected]

So it starts and runs, but doesnt stay running sounds like it needs to be tuned. It wouldnt run at all if the compression was bad.

no i cant even get it running...the starter i have will just keep it spinning...and no i dont have an air filter i got it just how you see it....i cant get it running enough to even put it on the ground.....the only thing that keeps it running is the starter

sounds like an airleak in a hose of some sort. swap all hoses. take cooling head off and check for seal . if need be make a gasket to fit then put some motor oil on it to set the seal..... hope this helps. oh ya i added both names to my msn. i have schematics for you to see.....[8D]

1. Are you priming the engine ? ( while the engine is spinning, put your finger over the exhaust tip for a few sec. ).
this pressureizes the fuel system !
2. Are you getting fuel at all ? ( pull the glow plug out, and put a drop or two of fuel into the cylender, not too much or it will not turn over )
If it runs for a second and dies, your not getting fuel to the engine.
3. Is your glow igniter charged up good ? or is there a fresh battery in it ?

glow plug igniter hsa rechargeable battery and cant find normal size battery to fit it........i think i need a new starter because the one i have isnt a box its a dum ol aiplane starter and all it does it eat up the rubber on the wheel.....i will try other things but i would like someone to fix it for cheap....preferably someone in texas cos i have no way to ensure it gets back to me e-mail me at [email protected] the messenger name we are on is my g/fs and its bifemtxlookin on yahoo
