Default Outdrive Covers FActory Team RC18T ???????

I just purchased a TA RC18t and started assembly. When assembling the diffs, there is a small "dogbone spring cup" that goes on in one side of each diff.

The kit came with blue aluminum outdrive covers, but the one side (with the "dogbone spring cup") will not allow the cover to slip on all the way and causes a bit of a bind.

The "dogbone spring cup" fits into the long groove on the side of the diff which is the longer side, and the 2 little nubs that keep it in the slots doesnt allow the cover to slide over.

Is it ok to shave off each nub so the cover slides on. Does anyone know what im referring too?

Thanks

It's ok to shave off enough to get the outdrive cover on. I just forced it on over the nubs. It shouldn't cause any problems either way.

One side of the diff (the side with the hex head) is deeper than the other .

If you ever damage a spring cup, like I did somehow, you can just use a spring from a ball-point pen. They work perfectly as replacements for when you lose a spring. Just trim to the length you need...
