RE: Perry GA show
Wow, really short thread.
Unlike all you crazy people who will be there Friday, I won't be able to make it until Saturday. Hopefully there will still be some good stuff left for me. I may actually end up giving LD a list of stuff to look around for on Friday before it all disappears .

I'm done with classes for the week, so I'm in full-bore Perry mode now. I've flushed my radiator and changed the oil in my truck, and put a full tank of gas in it so no car problems should stop me from leaving here tomorrow morning. Now I've but to throw a change of clothes in a bag and a couple planes in the cab and head out faster than disco left popularity.

Just got back with a few extra planes and mis. parts.Tons of good stuff there but I can't understand hobby shops selling or trying to sell stuff at list prices. Why would you drive all the way there to pay what you can buy it for from LHS? Avyway I won the drawing for a Hitec radio.Hope everybody made it home ok.....................

Telejojo, congratulations on winning the Hitec! I agree, I purposely avoided the vendors selling stuff at list prices. I found some great bargains! Only 364 days until next year!

RE: Perry GA show
Myself and two flying buddies drove up from Miami to attend the event.
We left very impressed with the quality and quantity of items for sale. Last year we felt there was a bit too much "junk" for what we're really interested in, however, this was not the case this year.
Great deals too be had - I saved hundred's of dollars on a few items which I was planning on purchasing via LHS or Internet. We have already planned to attend in 08'.
I concur with TELEJOJ. We observed several vendors that frequent the Florida shows.
Their prices did not relect any change from the norm.
This is a swap meet - not a trade show, so what's up with prices not discounted?

RE: Perry GA show
Hey Fellas,
The only complaint is that the time there goes too darn fast! We had eight tables and sold everything except one lonely ole cub that will have to wait it's turn until next year! There was some great stuff there and I scored some awesome deals on a couple of kits and some hardware. I met some new friends and enjoyed seeing all my ole flying buddies. GAMA is to be commended on putting on the greatest SWAP meet in the U.S., that's JMHO but I'm sure many of you out there agree with me! I must say also that the vendors that were there were willing to deal somewhat, I got breaks on purchases from Hodges, Atlanta Hobby and Fedon Aircraft. Mac, Cliff and Luigi were about as friendly as you could ask for!
Happy Flying!

RE: Perry GA show
Mac Hodges was the only vendor I bought from and he did shave the prices. Normally if there is something I know I want he we will bring it to the show and the deal is much better that anywhere. Long live the Perry Show!!!!!!!!! I gotta ask, why do people feel the need to turn over an engine? They have no intention of buying, but they will spin that sucker over. I took the prop off of one to prevent that and they would grab that hub and spin that! Just have to laugh at human nature I guess.
