hi,

again some technical question...

Which technique would you propose for the following:
the exaust nozzles made of composite material orientate the turbine 600deg hot air from the SS exaust pipe.

does ceramic paint thick layer will protect enough the parts from long exposure?
what alternative solution do I have?

the exhaust ducting is already Stainless steel as mentioned. it is the vectorised F22 nozzles which are made of composites and needs to be protected

What is the temperature of the exhaust gas at the location of the vectoring vanes?

Some more details would help.

The composite vanes would be a stiff material not flexible when finished, Right?

Why cannot the whole assembly be stainless steel?

You need to define the temperatures before you can start looking for materials.

My point is, if the EGT is 600F at the point of the vectoring vanes, epoxy/fabric composites will not be suitable. Ceramic sheets may work fine, if you can find them. You need air between your "heat shield" and any composite structure. Stainless still looks like the easiest solution.
