Default New car

Hey guys, I want to get a new electric car. I have a tmaxx 2.5 but not much place to drive it so I want a car. Is there a good drifting car that has some speed. I would also want it to be able to go on a smoother dirt rode and some gravel and small rocks. what are you guys thinking. I would like the price to be 350 or less rtr. I will get other stuff after, I just want to have it setup

For your list sounds like your after something to bash with.

TT-01 all the way mate.

Also, from RCmart you can get hold of some rally block style tyres that go well with a WRX or Lancer EVO body.

You can get a TT-01 for about $200 RTR, and then use the rest of the money on shocks and other upgrades.

Buying from tower last I checked you could get one for closer to $150-$160USD but if you wait a few months a discount may come up and get it for $20 cheaper or so.

But I hope you know, to drift you need an on-road car, and going over small rocks you need a off-road car.

The TT-01 really won't like the rocks.

Ball bearings, aluminium drive shaft, oil filled shocks, carbon stiffner brace, CVD's, ball diffs....???

The list goes on to what you could do, look at www.rcmart.com and look for TT-01 upgrades.

But Ball bearings and aluminium drive shaft are a must.

www.rcmart.com I find is great for parts and upgrades, but shipping to the US can take like 3 weeks, and is more expensive on shipping.

For the chassis itself, www.towerhobbies.com is great.

It may be an idea to buy 2 second hand chassis's (onroader and offroader) and swap the elctronics between them.

I did it for awhile, I was much happier than trying to jump and go off-road with my TT-01.

Yes, it would be a real cool onroad car if it sat lower. Mybe I can but hydralics and flip a switch and it pops up, but ya, your idea with two chasis is a good idea. thanks

I think a buggy would be your best bet for on and offroad, so you can drift and jump. Dark Impact is good.

Tower raised the price of an Evader BX Pro buggy from $189 to $289 last week. I bought two at the lower
price, and they were a steal. I'd have to expand my search at $289 to see what's out there. You still get a
lot for $289, but the Associated B4 buggy sits lower by around 1/2 inch.

You aren't going to drift well with a 2wd stadium truck. Get them at Tower Hobies.. To make it more "onroad" you could lower it, give it stiffer suspension and maybe street tires.

But then you lose the point of a stadium/monster truck.

The link above is for an Evader Pro BX bugy. I own two, and they have been great. Look at what you get in the package, and
then compare it to what other companies are offering. Most of the eBay stores have followed Tower's price increase, but the
seller in the link is charging $189 shipped. The Team Orion Havok motors have been replaced by Team Orion Formula SV2, but
even Tower still describes the BX Pro as having the Havok. Most people have commented very favorably on the Formula SV2, and
I have 4 of the little buggers!

Big Pluses:
Quality Graphite Parts with a One Year Breakage Warranty
12 Turn Programmable ESC
Programmable TX, with 10 modfel memory, and LED Dsiplay
VERY nice hard anodized shocks
ProLine Tires, and Great Handling
Pre-finished Tastefully Done Body...Much nicer than the non-Pro Evader body.

Well you can have one rc that can half way do a lot of things or just take the time and invest in a different rc for each application. I can change tires and stiffen the shocks to make my XXX-T run on-road decently but it will never do what a half decent touring car can. if you are looking for something that can transfer fairly well between both worlds and do a decent job then go with a buggy, it's low enough to do ok on the street and good enough to tear up the off road stuff.

The Rustler is a great truck, very durable and cheap. Not to mention all the parts available for it. I loved my old Rusty til the day I sold it.
