Off hand no I don't. I know that actual company name is either JA or J&A Engineering so you might be able to google it. Abell RC is another that makes mufflers for just about everything. You could cheat and contact Taurus engines and obtain one of the mufflers for his TS-52 engine. It's the same J&A muffler [link]http://www.taurus-engines.com[/link]
Bisson makes good mufflers but they come out of Canada, with some associated time and shipping cost issues. They are handled U.S. direct by Kangke U.S.A. since they are the distributor for Brison engines now.

Capt Randy - I agree on the "bonded washers". Home Depot carries them, they are called sealing washers (I guess because they would be used in a fuel tank, wet area, etc.). The rubber is bonded to one side and and the rubber around the bolt hole is undersized relative to the bolt which seals everything.
I put them on the lower cowl bolts and haven't tried them on the top. I was concerned they would interfere with the forward hatch former. Am going to buy some more and try them on the top.
Silversurfer - nice video and sound mixing! Your son has a real talent.

rctom, are these currently in stock? (540V2)
rctom, are these currently in stock? (540V2)
They are just now starting a new batch so it will be at least 2 months to get more.

No, the first batch sold out in almost no time. The second batch (bigger) is the victim of production scheduling. Sukhois and Extra 41% have been in front of Edges on the production line.
They are just now starting a new batch so it will be at least 2 months to get more.

I guess the extras fly about the same? I'm loving the 429 price tag but don't know if I wanna wait two months. Plus, Chinatime always tends to drag on and on, two months turning into 3 then 4.
Anybody have the extra and the edge? I know the extra is probably a better tracker but you cant beat an edge for sunday hacking.

Hey, for all those people that like to do knife edge spins here's a little suggestion. Change out the 8-32 rudder horn and up size it to 10-32. Tom has the linkage in stock for that. A very simple change that increases the strength of the horn considerably. I bent the 8-32 horn on the Edge today doing a bunch of K.E. spins. Not much, but enough to make me think about making the change pretty soon. If the rudder surface deflection is high enough and you enter the maneuver from an upline 45 degree inside tumble you can transition to the most "on the tube" knife edge spins with only the rudder and throttle to manage it. Holding elevator or ailerons screws it up.
The rudder to elevator mix is coming down in percentages a bit from where I had it. At high rate the max percentage is about 9% with the low at about 3-5%. I think I still need to take another 1% off across the scale in both directions before it's as close as it can get.
What an AWESOME plane!![8D]

I like the way youu mounted your throttle and choke servos, but the angle coming off the DA 50 is pretty severe. How did you make that work? What linkages did you use?

I used ball links. I wouldn't say the angle is severe; it does not interfere at all with the transition of the throttle or choke. It works very smooth.

RE: 50cc Edge V2 has landed
Hello Tom & Silversurfer,
I did order a Pitts Muffler from J-Tech, in fact the larger style for my Brison 3.2 just for added insurense to keep the sound down. My next question....Will the larger Pitts style muffler cause any problems with the motor box? If not I need to call J-Tech back and get the smaller one.
Thanks.

The stock wrap around that J&A makes clears the box with a Taurus by about 1/8" if you mount the engine straight. The same engine with a Bisson 45 degree wrap around clears the box by about 1/2". Don't know about the J-tec. The Brison 3.2 and the Taurus 3.2 use the same muffler, but I'm not sure about the exhaust port height. Since the Taurus fits entirely within the cowl and the Brison will not, I'm guessing that the Brison head sits higher, making the exhaust port lower on an inverted mount, providing even more box clearance.
I don't see a problem with any of them at this point.

For those of you that REALLY enjoy 3D and 50cc sized planes, if you're not on the list for one of the next shipment of these new version 2 Edges you're missing out. BIG TIME!!!! Everytime I take mine out I have more fun with it than the time before. It's absolutely a down on the deck type of plane that does it all and does it well. This thing is the most fun I've had since I discovered what you can do with girls. A lot cheaper, too
Tom, you really out did yourself with this one. Still need to move the hole for the tail gear back about an inch[8D]

You hit it on the head Silversurfer. There is nothing this plane can't do! I kept flying it and neglected my YAK. I told everybody I was going to sell the YAK cuz it was a waste to leave it set in the barn all neglected and we could use the money. Then I took the YAK out for a day and there is no way I am parting with either. Wife is upset. I blame Tom. [>:]
