Racing in the driver series i guess?
Something like the TRF415 is nicely priced ATM. Also the schumacher mi2 is good, or the cyclone. But as for parts support, i'd probably go with the Tamiya.

The top killers so far, in no particular order:
Xray T2 '007, HB Cyclone, Tamiya TRF415 - all belt drive.
After Associated's fiasco with the TC4, I think it wise to wait at least until people with TC5s appraise its performance. It does not seem to have any particular innovations.
Being in the market myself for a budget TC, I am looking at the T2R, Cyclone S, and TA05.

T2 is the best,
But, try out the team Losi JRS-X Type-R, It's pretty good!

It is funny how most 1/10 touring cars look alike. I owuld recommend the TA-04R from Tamiya. It is basically a TRF 415 but a third of the price.

Why are you saying that the FT tc4 was a fiasco it still winning A mains, it is still a competitive car, granted the industry for touring car racing is going to belt drive. i think its a great car still.
Have you looked at the tamiya Tb evo 5 thats a shaft driven car that will compete with the best of Xray anyday.

Not to argue, but show me who has won A-Mains with a TC4 in Mod...
Team Associated tried to save money by grafting the TC3 drivetrain onto the TC4 with no mods. It made the TC4 seem like an afterthought.

this came off the AE site,,,,,
Team Associated’s U.K. driving star Craig Drescher won the prestigious invitational Touring Car class at the 2005 Reedy International Race of Champions. Craig beat the world’s best drivers, chassis, and motor builders in the industry to take the overall win.

that team losi jrs-x type r seems really nice and perfect for racing the only thing wrong with that is the price, but with that it is only a one time payment and you will probably never have to upgrade.

Isn't that where the battery always sits even on other cars below the upper chassis I beleive so. Is that the only reason that you think that is trash?
